I've used block knife holders, and over time they look dingy and also never hold enough knives. I decided I wanted my knives out of sight, and in a place where there edges would be safe from dulling factors. I looked into knife trays, and actually ordered two different ones(the other was a wusthof). This one is by far my favorite of the two. I love the design. It holds a lot of knives and keeps the edges safe. I can see at a glance which knife I need, and it's easy to remember where you slot them, so very convenient. Both my husband and I love to cook, and we are extremely happy with this product. It's so beautiful, you'll almost wish it wasn't hidden away in a drawer, but if you're like me and hate clutter and love open counter space, this is a product for you.
