When I saw this cutting board I thought, huh... I bet that shape would be useful. Most cutting boards are more square, but this one is an unusual rectangle shape, much more wide than deep.

That extra width means I can push the food I've already chopped off to the side and still have room to keep chopping. But in terms of *depth*, it's still a mid-sized cutting board. It doesn't take as much room on my table as a really big chopping board.

It's beautifully made and looks very durable. I've been oiling it faithfully and it looks great.

I have always purchased cutting boards locally but they never lasted long, especially the bamboo cutting boards which broke in half. This is a great cutting board. I am looking forward to buying more J.K. Adams products.

I love this cutting board, I have been using it everyday since I received it. Beautiful Maple wood is also easy to clean. The best thing is it's big enough for all cooking preparation tasks. I'm glad I bought it!

Just received this small cutting board. We own many types and many sizes from both J.K. Adams & John Boos.

These will be used on a serving table for various types of food. They are light weight, attractive and perfect size. They have slightly rounded corners and are well made.

We purchase the 4 for 3 price discount.

Suggest using the J.K. Adams "turn over" boards with a trough for cutting meat, juicy vegetables or fruits, otherwise use the standard boards for dry items.

You can't go wrong with J.K. Adams or John Boos, they are the standard in the industry.

My board was perfectly flat at first. I noticed that it was distinctly warped after the first use. I use it nearly every day and probably even several times a day, and sometimes it is warped on one side then the other, (JK Adams is etched on only one side). It appears that the warping occurs because the board gets washed and rinsed with water, but typically only on the side that was in use. Apparently the moisture seeps into the wood causing that side to expand resulting in a distinct curve. I find that by purposefully wetting both sides and standing to dry I minimize the warping, but seriously I never saw this happen before and really think it ought not to happen at all if the wood is prepared properly. The board does seem to be made of maple and it is hard, in that after many uses with sharp knives I can barely distinguish a cut mark in it. It's usable, but I don't think having it lay flat is too high an expectation.

It is less than a year since the purchase date and this board has split on several of the glued seams and is no longer usable.

I ordered this in the 17" x 14." It's perfect for slicing bread.

The board is about 1/2 inch thick. It's well-sanded and smooth. The edges are slightly curved. I like the thin profile. An inch thick would look nicer, but I only keep it on the counter while I'm using it. Besides, since it's only 1/2 inch thick, it's not so heavy it's cumbersome.

It's a good board for a good price, and I do like maple. The board I received looks very like the photo on the product page.

I use this one for chopping vegies... I got another one, that is not wood for meat items. I am quite pleased with this and find it fits my needs quite well.

I'm replacing the awful plastic cutting boards, I got the 14 x 11 one which is great for making sandwiches on, or cutting up apple slices etc. The board says "3/4" inch thick but that's lumberman's sizing, as mine is about "5/8ths inch" thick. Still plenty thick enough as I'm not whacking chicken on this board with a cleaver but slicing celery etc. The surface was smooth when I got it, but after a couple of washings as become rough. I assume after I scrub it with a green "scrubbie" a few more months of use it will be smooth again. I oiled mine with Grape seed oil after each use and wiped off the excess with a paper towel.

I recommend it as a good general purpose board. Not too heavy, no blood grove so you can use both sides with impunity. I have a thicker board that has the grove on it for cutting up meat. Helps me keep the kitchen safe as well as I'm reminded which board goes for meat and which is just for vegetables & fruits.

Great cutting board for the money. The size is perfect and the wood grain is beautiful. I would recommend this product to everyone. Shipping time was pretty quick and it was very well packaged. The board is identical to the picture on the website. Total all experience, I would give them a A+++++++++++++++++++++ for a grade.
