5.0 out of 5 stars Triple Threat
Jennifer Lopez or J.Lo is one of the few performers who can sing, act, and dance. With This Album J.Lo she demonstrates that. The extra track (I'm Real Remix) is a great song, but not the best on the album. Some people might be saying that she can't sing, but for this type of materiel, she doesn't need great vocal cords.

Okay, so Jennifer Lopez isn't exactly Miss Diva. She has no talent as an artist. Let's admit it the girl can't sing. It impresses me that even though she can't sing she's still popular, but I guess it's the same way with Britney. However, I must admit that some of her songs are good. However, this album gets annoying over time. I used to like Love don't cost a thing and...

1. Love Don't Cost A Thing- 8. Great Song, But you get sick of hearing it after a while.

2. I'm Real- 9. "I'm Real, What You Get Is What You See" Sings J.Lo. Features A Cameo from her ex P.Diddy. He Sings "She's A Bad Bad Bit**"

3. Play- 9. A Great Dance Track. "DJ Just Play That Song" The Only Problem is that it could have been longer. This song is just 3min 33seconds. For This type of thing, it needs to be longer to get the feeling.

4. Walking on Sunshine- 10. My Favorite track on the album. If this song is ever released it will be a great Club Song.

5. Ain't It Funny. 9.5- This will be her next single. She Wrote this song for the movie "The Wedding Planer".

6. Carino- 9. Great Salsa Song. It Brings back J.Lo's Roots. A Live Salsa dand played on it.

7. Come Over- 4. This is J.Lo's favorite song on her album, BUT NOT MINE! If you have weak vocals (Like HEr) You shouldn't let people know. That is exactly what she did in this track.

8. We Gotta Talk- 8. A Catchy dance song.

9. That's Not Me- 10. A Great Hip-Hop Song. Produced By Sean Combs.

10. Dance With Me- 10. You will do exactly what this song tells you when you hear it.

11. Secretly- 4. SEE COme OVER!

16. I'm Real (REMIX)- 10. Better then the original!

J.LO HAS SOLD OVER 5 MILLION ALBUMS!

Favorite tracks worth listening to is: I'm real, Ain't it funny, Come over, Dance wtih me, and That's the way

Other good songs are remixes such as: I'm real (Murder remix) and Ain't it funny (Murder remix and It's gonna be alright (Remix). But for these tracks you'll have to buy J-Lo the remixes. This album is not that great it's just okay. J-lo is a great dancer and actress but she lacks vocally. She should just stick to acting however, she still has the hits to keep her going. I guess is one of the reasons why I bought On the 6 and J-Lo

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Pop,Latin,dance mix,and R&B hits put together!!!!, November 19, 2001

This review is from: J.Lo (Explicit) (Audio CD)
J.Lo has done it again! Only this time it's better! For all fans of "If you had my love" and "Waiting for tonight" there's "Love don't cost a thing", "Play" and tons of other similar hits. There's even something for everyone like "Carino'" who liked her Latin and dance mix singles. Fabulous #1 tracks and great singles different from her other hits include the catchy "Ain't it funny" and of coarse the #1 Billboard R&B hit "I'm Real" featuring Ja Rule. That is probably the song that makes the Cd one to buy since you don't get this track in the normal version. It also makes it a CD for all Mary J. Blige and Ja Rule lovers. Also her dance mix singles are better than anyone else's hits. Also if you don't really like Steps, you'd love this CD. This Cd is probably great for it's fast catchy hits not counting the "I'm Real Remix" which isn't fast but is great! Although some of her slower singles aren't that good, in the first album if you liked "Feelin' so good" you might also like this. This is one CD that is worth buying. A great artist with a great album! It has something for people with all kinds of Music Tastes!

3.0 out of 5 stars Many of the songs are great, but the content is questionable, December 16, 2003
This review is from: J.Lo (Explicit) (Audio CD)
I only like 9 of these 16 songs. Jennifer Lopez has a poor, poor voice, and although she can dance, in the music business, talent is what makes the singer, and Jennifer is talented at dancing and acting, not at singing. Sorry, but this album is fair. It isn't even good. I gave it 3 stars because I like 9 songs. I'll be waiting for her next album and see if she's improved any.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid cd with plenty to offer, October 11, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: J.Lo (Explicit) (Audio CD)
With J. Lo, Jennifer Lopez proves that she is more than a no-talent pop diva. The wide range of songs shows that she can do many different things. The MTV TRL favorites "Love Don't Cost A Thing", "I'm Real", and "Play" are great, and the R&B driven "I'm Real (Murder Remix)" is also good. The lesser known "Ain't It Funny" is one of the best songs on the album, and deserves to be released as a single. However, the problem that plagues so many pop singers afflicts Jennifer. Her fast, dance-driven beats are great, but her slow songs aren't any good. You'll skip past the balleds on J. Lo to get to the faster songs. But all and all, Jennifer has put together a good cd with plenty of good tracks. Buy it, it's worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Updated Review: It gets boring!!, March 29, 2002

As much as I admire Jennifer Lopez, I'm afraid this CD gets old fast. The only one's worth listening to are "Love Don't Cost A Thing", "Play", "I'm Real (Murda Remix)" and "Secretly." Her voice gets annoying. She shouldn't try singing so hard. Just use it nice and lightly. I mean, look at how well Gloria Estifan used her decent voice when it was not exactly really spectacular. "I'm Gonna Be Alright" is another good upbeat song and the remix is just as good. The Rodney "DarkChild" Jenkins track "That's The Way" is boring and predictable. DarkChild hasn't produced a good song since '99. I'm not gonna even go into how bad the original "I'm Real" is. It really needed remixing big time...so call on Murda Inc! It sounds great! As for her next album she needs to work less on trying to sing like she has an extremely powerful voice (like christina has). Overall grade for J LO: C

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, July 29, 2001

This review is from: J.Lo (Explicit) (Audio CD)
This CD was excellent before the bonus track with Ja Rule was put on, now it is an awesome CD. I would buy this album purely for the bonus track at the end as it is definitely the best song on the CD, not that the others are bad of course.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just image and hype, October 29, 2002
This review is from: J.Lo (Explicit) (Audio CD)
I am from Puerto Rico, just like J.Lo, and in terms of putting our island on the international map, she gets my blessing. But I have to agree with another reviewer that she really can't sing at all. Plus, this album, like the others, is just mostly machine generated sounds, therefore not music. It is obviously purposefully manufactured with the only intention of selling as many cds as possible. Guess what? Given the ignorant musical climate of recent years and with her formidable physical beauty, that is not too difficult. Its the image that sells. To me, J.Lo's greatest talent is dancing, and second to that, acting. She could be a great choreographer/dance coach, and also an actress. That would make you rich enough, wouldn't it? Oh, well, long live good looks and the too-much-money-is-never-enough-so-lets-get-as-filthy-rich-as-possible mentality.

What better way to boost off into mainstream happy-land than a duet with Ja Rule automatically becoming a huge radio-friendly smash? Jennifer Lopez is a fine actresse and she shouldve stuck to it just like many actors are trying to do, branch out to music, but fail miserablly. I can't really call Jennifer Lope- err i mean J LO a failure after the millions of copies sold of her album, but it fails to hit the soft spot in hip-hop which it sounded like she was aiming for. Jennifer Lopez never really had any vocal talent to begin with but this album dims her vocals so much more and all thats to pay attention to is the dull beat in every song. But despite of this everyone knows that J Lo will stay a huge household name worldwide...even if she is lacking talent in the music industry, but hey whatever brings in the "rocks"

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Unique Voice, Great Looks And She Can Act TOO!, October 15, 2006
This review is from: J.Lo (Explicit) (Audio CD)
I remember seeing the video clip of JLo's song "Ain't It Funny" and as I recall it set my middle aged heart racing which is a new experience for me considering what they usually show on EMPTY VEE these days. And if you don't like the music this CD is worth buying for the cover photo alone.Ms. Lopez's voice is strong and soars like an eagle on a few of the tracks.PLus next to Catherine Mary Stewart JLO is my favourite actress. This is one very talented lady who has graciously endured all of the criticism levelled against her in recent years and she is still around to prove them all wrong.Jennifer is HOT and if I had lived "down on the block" a few years ago I would have asked her for a date! Naturally 5 stars for this album.
