5.0 out of 5 stars Don't miss this!, July 28, 2010

From the Baltimore City Paper: "J. Roddy Walston and the Business is what would happen if Queen and Black Oak Arkansas birthed four boys in the backwoods and let them listen to nothing but Cheap Trick and showtunes".

The only thing better than this record is seeing the band live!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best new band I've heard since Kings of Leon, January 15, 2011
This review is from: J Roddy Walston & The Business (Audio CD)
Kings of Leon, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and Louis XIV have been my only hopes in the new millennium. This album is better than anything that I have heard in the past 3 years.

4.0 out of 5 stars J. "Rowdy" Walston, February 22, 2012

This album sounds like a raucous night on the town. Probably at the local dive down the street listening to one of the best bar bands you've ever heard. Plenty of upbeat fare and memorable moments here. While the bar band component is major element of their sound, overdriven guitars and rootsy piano lines hint at a kind of reved up Americana. Maybe what early KOL would have sounded like if they never took themselves so seriously. Solid album, every song has its own charming qualities. Few, if any, dead spots here. J. Roddy and the Biz definitely get the joint jumping.

5.0 out of 5 stars You gotta see it to believe it, September 28, 2011

Here's a fresh sound that grabs your attention the first time you play it. PLENTY of energy in the songs with interesting content. I was fortunate to see the group live the initial time I heard their material. To say I was impressed is an understatement...to say their CD is always in my player is not. You gotta hear these guys!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome record and incredible live act, April 20, 2011
J Roddy Walston And The Business are the single most refreshing new act to hit the scene in many years. Anyone that has gone to a show in the last year or so to find this band as the opening act has walked away completly blown away by the sheer excitment of there performance. This is a must have record and a "must see live act"

5.0 out of 5 stars The Wildman J. Roddy, April 2, 2011
This review is from: J Roddy Walston & The Business (Audio CD)
Buy this CD and GO SEE THEM LIVE! I have dubbed J. Roddy as The Wildman! Awesome raw Rock and Roll as it was meant to be. If you want it polished and poised go somewhere else. A cross between Jerry Lee Lewis and Ted Nugent.

I'd never heard of these guys until I saw them open for Wolfmother in a small club in Kansas City this summer. They threw down an incredible live show. That power and energy translate perfectly onto this album. I hope this band makes it big because this album makes me want to hear more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great album, December 17, 2010

I bought this album after seeing the band in concert. They play a great and fun bare-bones rock 'n' roll that is leaning towards heavy rock.

Very energetic and quite dark song lyrics.

If you have the chance to see them in concert, take it. It's a great show.
