Biography

The third album from J. Roddy Walston & The Business, Essential Tremors borrows its name from a nervous-system disorder that’s long plagued the band’s frontman. “It’s this condition where my hands shake―sometimes not at all, but sometimes pretty bad,” says singer/pianist/guitarist Walston. “I’ve referenced it throughout all our records in ... This album gets better and better with each successive listen, I keep hearing different influences/nuances and now I enjoy the end of the disc more than front......

Kings of Leon, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and Louis XIV have been my only hopes in the new millennium. This album is better than anything that I have heard in the past 3 years.

From the Baltimore City Paper: "J. Roddy Walston and the Business is what would happen if Queen and Black Oak Arkansas birthed four boys in the backwoods and let them listen to nothing but Cheap Trick and showtunes".
The only thing better than this record is seeing the band live!

I first heard of this band because the are opening for Shooter Jennings and Hierophant in October here in Nashville. I previewed the album and was I thought they had a very unique sound. This album packs a strong punch, with my favorite track Full Growing Man. The energy is awesome from track to track. Key tracks are: Pigs & Pearls, Brave Man's Death and I Don't Wanna Hear It.

When your 57 year old father says this is some good stuff, you know you found some great music.

This is true Rock N' Roll. Not that awful heavy metal or cheesy boy-band junk. I was always a KOL fan (and still am) but this is quickly becoming my favorite band. Shout out to the Rockin' Eagle in the Copper Country. Heard 'Heavy Bells' on my way to the ski hill and instantly fell in love with it. Thanks for still being a true radio station!

Recommendation: Buy every album.
