Product Description

Replace your old Sensar antenna with the JACK replacement head for better digital TV reception. Includes custom bracket for simple retrofit to your current antenna mast using the existing mounting pins. Broader reception rang helps to receive signals found in the “dead spot” or 35 degree of rotation not reached by the existing mount. The amplified antenna can be powered by your existing antenna power supply or used with the included power injector. A universal mounting bracket is also included for installation on a pole or railing for residential use. At just 22.5” H x 16” W x 12.5” D the JACK replacement head is 70% smaller with improved wind resistance and weighs 25” less than the existing antenna head. For use with Sensar Antennas only.

It was easy to install and works well at this time.
John Pauley
I'm sure it's more capable in metro locations, but seriously lacking for fringe areas at least in my experience.
Big Joe
Very easy to install, it took longer to get the tools and climb up the roof than to install.

Wow! Big improvement. If you have a motorhome, get the complete system and get rid of the banging on the roof while driving. If you have a trailer you could consider replacing just the head, but think you are missing some of the other very positive features.

I more than doubled the number of stations received, but several former stronger stations were a little weaker (lower numbered channels, i.e. digital 7 and 12, but not 13, 10 is too close to judge.)

If you are replacing the traditional Winegard batwing and it was installed the way mine was (Monaco), I mounted the base backward and then cut the indexing knob tab off inside so I could have the knob pointing the correct direction. This way all the previous installation holes were all covered except for several screw holes. To make sure no sealant was pushed into the area where it rotated I mounted it then sealed it with ample self leveling sealant over the flange, screws and on to the roof. Think King should make this an optional mounting method in that most people will be replacing old batwings.

It is a great product. Don't hesitate buying the complete system.

I have had it up on my rv, where my sensar antenna used to be, for 4 days now and I like it. I hope it will be faithful to me. It is equal to my my 10 element, yagi type,(non-amplified) antenna. It has a wider sweep of reception and even though I am now in the country it is doing just fine. One very important note. Be sure that your cable is not corroded and that the outside ground mesh and the inner copper tiny wire are seperate. I have a 2005 model rv and the wire mesh was corroded all the way to where it went into the roof. The antenna did not work but when I connected a new section and sealed the joint with shrink wrap the antenna started to do its thing. You will always know when you are getting the 12 volts to the antenna because they included a tiny red light on the underside of the antenna. One thing to remember. The pointy end of the antenna needs to point away from the stations that you want. If you do not read the instructions carefully you could get it wrong because just guessing I would think that the point is supposed to point to the stations but the point part is the reflector and apparently not the actual antenna part. Hey,it looks good on top of my rig too. Looks high tech and compact.

I replaced a Winegard Bat Wing with the "wingman" attachment on my RV with a Jack 8000 Digital TV Antenna. The result were remarkable. I was in a remote area in Colorado where only low power translator stations were readable. The Bat Wing could barely read the stations so I decided to try the Jack. I went from getting constantly breaking up digital signals to rock solid reception on several stations. Because the stations were low power they were allowed to transmit both analog and digital signals. This proved to be a good test for the Jack. The UHF signals (where most HDTV is transmitted) were considerably better than the bat wing. In the VHF region the reception was better on the bat wing.

I installed the antenna on my RV using the same mount as the bat wing. The installation was painless. It is a matter of removing two pins and connecting the coax cable. The existing antenna amplifier worked seamlessly.

Another attribute of the Jack is that it is very light and small. If you have trouble rotating the bat wing you will find the Jack a joy to operate. It also seems to be less directional and in the digital age finding and keeping a station locked on can be a real challange!

I kept the bat wing in case I found myself in an area where I could only get VHF signals. If the Jack performed in the VHF band as well as the bat wing I would have given it 5 stars. I can recommend this antenna to anyone that has made the switch to HDTV. It is definitely worth the money.

Bought the Jack 8000 to replace a 2003 Wingard rv antenna and all I can say is don't waste your money. I compared signal strength and channel pick up between the two and the old antenna got more channels and much better signal strength then the new Jack 8000. So mine was either defective or it isn't very good, either way I returned it to Amazon. Quick note Amazon is absolutely the best! They gave me all my money back and was super fast in shipping it to me and refunding my cash! Thanks Amazon

Honestly, having just closed-up and stored our RV for the winter, (which is parked out-of-state), I haven't yet installed / tried-out this new "digital" antenna (note: there really is no such thing as a "digital" antenna). However, I have tried it at home. Even inside my house (just holding it) it picks up every digital channel available in our area. I have had a TV connected to a converter box, (to use when heavy rain sometimes blocks satellite reception), but with rabbit-ears it has only picked up a few channels. However, the Jack Oa-8000 Antenna managed to receive all channels and with a strong / consistent signal, too. So, I have high hopes once installed on the RV next Spring (and, according to directions with included parts, installation should be very easy). One note of caution, though, you absolutely must have a power booster connected (most RV's will have one, but the Jack Oa-8000 comes with one included) . . . and it must also be connected according to direction - - - as one of the designated coaxial cables must be connected to the televison (and not the antenna). This is easy to verify, because there is a red "LED" bulb under the antenna that lights-up when propoerly powered.
