Not Much To See Here...
on September 19, 2011
While the photographs in this collection are clear and many have never been previously published, I was under the impression this was a book solely based around the pictorial crime scene locations of the Ripper murders. Oh, there were those inserted in the text for good measure, but sparse little information about the murders and the book veered off to include irrelevant photos of other sites in London and of the original photographer. Perhaps the title was somewhat deceptive, although I intended to use this as research for the general East end locale, and even then, found this to be of little use. I had originally turned to this source due to the lack of good photos on Google, but sadly haven't found much here that might be of help in my researches. This is definitely only for the highly serious Ripperologist - those looking for genuine 1888 location photos or writers hoping to gain more insight on the area would probably be better off with Google or another publication devoted solely to the Ripper.
