The JAR catalogue from the exhibition at the Gilbert Collection at Somerset House is one of the finest catalogues of jewels ever produced. Simply designed to show the jewels at their best, with minimal type or explanation, little to no context, but page after page of wonder, owning this book is the epitome of any collection of books about jewels. JAR's superb design and craftmanship exudes itself from the page. The richness of the base materials and precious gems is astounding.Even at $2,500 this is a good buy. |
