After much research and reading lots of reviews, I bought this iPad case instead of the nondescript, but practical Apple case because it seemed to combine beauty and function for a reasonable price. However, I'm disappointed.
I did give it 3 stars because it's not all bad:
PROS: The soft cloth cover has color and design to add femininity and personality.
- My iPad snaps in pretty securely into the plastic molding along the corners and vertical edges.
- I like the 3 slots for positioning the iPad and different angles when viewing horizontally or vertically.
- The top and bottom of the iPad are not covered by the case to allow for easy access of controls.
CONS: The plastic reinforcements along the corners and vertical sides only hold the iPad along the edges, and so, if the plastic eventually loosens, that could cause a real problem (unlike the Apple case which comes up over the sides).
- The cloth covering is not as pretty in real life. The cloth looks cheap and there were some loose threads on the back along with the "made in China" sticker.
- The front cover slides around the front of the the iPad when closed instead of securely covering it. This is because of the flimsy magnetic clasp. You sacrifice security for the of ease of opening and closing.
In hindsight, I was too anxious to buy a case and sacrificed quality for want of something pretty. As I start carrying around my iPad more and more, I foresee myself buying the black Apple case or something more expensive for the sake of having a case that will last and keep my iPad securely enclosed.
