I should have known better when I bought a few of these. The one that I use immediately broke. The springs came flying out through the plastic. Obviously it never coiled back up. Go ahead and spend more for a better made product. If you do purchase this be sure to wear eye protection to protect yourself from flying metal springs.

I use this cable on a daily basis. I love how easy it makes keeping my iPhone on my desk charging/syncing. No wires in my way and it very easily retracts. I highly recommend!

This item is somewhat flimsy but it served its purpose while the chord didn't break. If you want something long term I don't suggest this product.

Seems a bit flimsy at first, certainly not Apple quality, but it's been working great for several weeks now. It is important to heed the little diagram on the case! Pull both ends at the same time, not one or the other. Otherwise you'll have a tangled mess, but if you use it the way it's designed it's a cool, compact little connector that's easy to tote around.

This item works with the iphone, it just takes a minute to recognize that it is plugged in and the quality is definitely not apple.

Be aware, this item is shorter than advertised. The length is only about 30" from plug-tip to plug-tip. Additionally of the 3 I bought, one doesn't catch when you open it and will retract if you let go. The durablility seems questionable, but what do you expect for this price? It's probably worth it if you know what you are getting up front.

By the way, this cable works with all of the apple devices in our family; iPad, iPhone and iPods. The iPad seems to be picky and has not worked with others I've tried.

The product works as advertised. However the cable length is SUPPOSED to be 35". It's only 30.... INCLUDING the plugs.

I ordered this item specifically based on the picture which shows the housing of the iPod/iPhone side connector with the same size as the original charger from Apple. Unfortunately, what was shipped is different, i.e. the connector housing is wider and as a result does not fit our iPods and iPhones with any of the protective cases/sleeves we use. It is not realistic to remove the protective cases/sleeves everytime one wants to charge or sync our iPods and iPhones, particularly when one wants to use a charging cable for the car.

Hence, this product may sync and charge but due to the size of the connector, it is useless for a lot of people who use protective cases/sleeves. Yes, it is cheap but we still wasted $5 for something we cannot use.

I'm mainly criticizing this product as it's ratcheting mechanism is of very poor design, and it continually jams up when expanded. Nor does it lock properly as it should. I most certainly can NOT recommend this product to anyone. Eventually when I see a better one at the store I'll likely get one just so I don't have to deal with the poor manufacture quality of this item. The ends are made ok, not exceptionally well, but just ok, but the ratcheting mechanism is about as bad as it gets. It bunches up and won't load properly. Oh well.

Works great. Love the retraction. Feels a little cheap on the iphone end.
