5.0 out of 5 stars Vegan and awesome
I was hunting high and low for a vegan-friendly case for my Nook. There's no shortage of leather-based cases but god help me if I want something that didn't involve skinning an animal. I quickly came to the conclusion that I was either stuck with the generic zipper-neoprene-and-nylon cases (that can honestly house any electronic of a certain size) and then - BOOM - I...

3.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Nook case, but....
This the first case I bought for my Nook and I loved its classy feel and functionality. However, after several months of heavy use I noticed that the case was leaving brown markings around the side buttons. If this isn't something that would bother you I would recommend getting the case. I had complements out the wazoo about how cute it was since it looked just like a...

I was hunting high and low for a vegan-friendly case for my Nook. There's no shortage of leather-based cases but god help me if I want something that didn't involve skinning an animal. I quickly came to the conclusion that I was either stuck with the generic zipper-neoprene-and-nylon cases (that can honestly house any electronic of a certain size) and then - BOOM - I stumble across JAVOedge's Amazon store and there it is, in the technical details: "Non-leather material is animal friendly!"

(It should be noted that B&N has a number of all-canvas cases available but as of right now they're only available for pre-order and I needed something now. I'm a klutz.)

It's solid and feels as much when you're holding it. From Day One the cover folds around behind itself to make it easier to hold - none of that "break it in" crap apparently involved in any number of competitive cases. The Nook is in the case snuggly and the buttons and ports are all quite accessible.

I'm in love with this damn thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tweed case for Nook, April 25, 2010

This review is from: JAVOedge Tweed Book Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation (Electronics)
I purchased this item for my Nook and I love it. The price was right. The Nook sits in the case securely. Unlike some of the other cases that have straps that go over the Nook this one has what I can only describe as an envelope. The case does not interfere with any of the Nooks functions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stylish, excellent quality, and affordable, April 9, 2010

This review is from: JAVOedge Tweed Book Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation (Electronics)
Unfortunately, the Nook cases sold at Barnes and Nobles were not to my liking. Their price range was a bit iffy too. I wanted a stylish, professional, yet affordable case for my Nook. I know that neoprene and leather cases for ebook readers are a dime a dozen. They all seemed boring, generic, and common.

But this product from JAVOedge caught my eye. Wow! The tweed and faux leather combo gave the case a contemporary and eclectic look. I love the magnetic closures; soft interior lining; complete access to all ports; pockets for business cards, ID, and extra memory cards. Quality and finish is amazing. The case is sturdy and gives my Nook the protection it deserves. The fit is very snug.

I highly recommend this.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1 Year Owner!, September 23, 2010

This review is from: JAVOedge Tweed Book Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation (Electronics)
I've had this case for over a year and it's held up VERY well! I carry my Nook everywhere; on trips, to work, to the store, etc. I've dropped this case, wedged it in between things, gotten it wet, and had my cat knead it and it still looks like new! Not a scratch or dent on my Nook to date.

Besides durability, it is the best looking case I've found anywhere. The style and ergonomics are better than the designer cases you'll find at any B&N store and the fabric/leather exterior give it a very professional and unique look.

Two features I LOVE!:
- The interior pocket comes in very handy for notes and random papers
- The pocket you slide the Nook into fits the device like a glove; there's no way it will fall out. Surprisingly, it is one of only a few cases that have the full pocket to hold the device. Most cases have a small elastic band in the upper right corner that's suppose to secure the device (talk about cheap).

I paid $40 dollars for this case when it first came out and it was worth every penny. I highly recommend this case. Definitely check this out before buying one of those designer cases from B&N. You can't beat the quality or the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stylish cover for less than what B&N asks for theirs, December 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: JAVOedge Tweed Book Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation (Electronics)
I bought this after looking over what seemed like a hundred different options. I wanted something that looked masculine and slightly "executive" without looking gaudy. This is exactly what I was hoping for. The pictures above from the vendor make it look like it is black, but it is in fact brown, however not *quite* so brown as the other customer image. I wanted something dark and although I was hoping it was black, the brown is dark enough that it is close enough for my tastes. The tweed looks extremely classy. The stitching is top notch. There was a tiny bit of glue in one of the corners between the two layers, but it was very small and I just trimmed it away. Considering how nice it looks overall, the glue was a small issue and not a big deal. Everything else is top notch. I give it 4 stars on "protection" only because the case is slightly flexible since it is soft leather and doesn't provide the level of protection a poly-board cover might from getting struck with something, but I have no fears for my Nook in anything but extreme circumstances, and frankly, if my nook gets into a situation like that, the fault will be mine. I was contemplating getting the "flip" style Javo tweed case or this one, but I am glad I got this one instead.

I wanted a light to go with this, but I didn't like the clip on lights. I found the perfect light for this case however at B&N. It's made by Mighty Bright too, so it's a quality light. I bought one and slip it right between the Nook and the back case flap and it sits nice and securely. With the articulated light element, I am able to point the light just so to get a nice evenly lit reading area with it and it's a great light for traveling because it folds. It's not very heavy either. [...]

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Cover for the Nook, August 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: JAVOedge Tweed Book Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation (Electronics)
This cover is an excellent substitute for the overpriced "designer" covers on sale at Barnes and Noble. The Nook fits beautifully inside, the small magnetic closure mechanism keeps it from opening inside my bag, and the cover just looks cool when I take it out. There is a flap on the inside cover for notes cards, which I have taken to jotting down titles of books people recommend for later perusing, and a nice little elastic pen holder.

Overall, I must say that I am extremely happy with my purchase, and I have even ordered a different style Javo cover for my wife's Nook.

4.0 out of 5 stars One small problem, July 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: JAVOedge Tweed Book Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation (Electronics)
Wanted to give this item 5 stars cause I really do like it. It's a great little holder for the Nook. Very comfortable for holding while reading, looks good and feels good in my hand. The only thing to fault are the two corner magnets which are supposed to keep the cover closed. They are much too weak to do the job. This was not a huge deficiency, I simply added a couple of magnets of my own to solve the problem. It was just a pull away from being perfect. Have had it too short a time to comment ot the durability, but if I had to guess I would say it appears constructed well enough to last quite a while.

This review is from: JAVOedge Tweed Book Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation (Electronics)
It took me forever to decide on a case for my Nook, but when I saw this I knew it was the one. I love it's classic style. It feels good in my hands and it folds back beautifully and the magnetic closure really sets this case apart from the others. The pictures do not do this case justice. It's beautiful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted, September 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: JAVOedge Tweed Book Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation (Electronics)
I spent about a month looking for a case for my new nook and then I found this case. It was just what I was looking for, I loved the full coverage and how it made the nook actually feel like a book. I carry my nook in my backpack and I don't have to worry about my nook while it's in this case. I love how classy the cover looks and how comfortable it feels. This was the perfect one for me.

After experiencing sticker shock while looking at a lot of non-descript Nook covers, I ended up here and found the perfect cover. The Nook is firmly held in place, comfortable to hold, and looks very "bookish".
Great product; no regrets !
