The bass was strong, high and mid were quite clear and stood out too.

The little carrying case that comes with them doesn't open or close smoothly.

These headphones seemed impressive even before opening them, coming in a good thick quality plastic shell. Listening to them, I appreciate them being much more comfortable than other like products. I especially like the punctuated sound of the bass - it doen't bleed on and get mushy like other speakers are want to do. The exaggerated bass of electronica and rap is well defined and highlighted on these.

I will try to update this review as I've had time for proper burn-in. I just received these yesterday and left the phones to-burn in streaming various pink/white/frequency noises from [...].

My initial thoughts are these are an extremely lightweight, well-packed set of IEM's. They sound great for Jazz, Classical, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, Rap, R&B, Hip Hop and Dance. I'm not feeling them as much for Rock. The bass is big. Not overpowering like on iBeats by Dre. The clarity is good as long as there is some separation of instrumentation. The only place where you don't get a lot of separation is rock where you have a lot of guitar distortion that tends to muddle the rest of the instruments. This may just be me, and it may just be the way that rock is mixed, but the vocals definitely take a backseat to the muddy distortion. With more burn-in this will probably improve.

After receiving them yesterday, I put them on, and the treble was almost unbearable. To the point I had to take them off and let them burn-in. After the initial 12-15 hours of burn-in, the treble seems to have mellowed and the bass has caught up. Don't take these or ANY headphones back without first letting them burn-in.

I had a Giftcard for $50 to the store I bought them from, and so I paid $70 after shipping - $50 gc = $20. These are WELL worth the $20 I paid. No question. Would I pay $70 for them? Maybe. I probably would have been more choosy in terms of trying out the sound in-person first. However at $20 out of pocket, I have no regrets whatsoever. My purchase was based soley on online reviews. I also own a pair of Shure SE115's. I love the 115's, though they can get uncomfortable with extended wear.

I was looking for good earbuds in the ~$50 range and came across these in many headphone reviews on audio forums. Other models I was considering were the Monster iSport and Klipsch S4. I'm pretty picky about my audio systems (own some good 5.1/7.1 headsets and home theater setups), so I was looking for something good for all around use with responsive bass and consistent mids/highs.

Upon receiving these, I was impressed with the packaging. They come in a very well designed "capsule", so to speak, and contain the headphones, 3 sets of rubber earpieces, airline adapters, and case. Everything is minimalistic in style, but very functional in practice. The headphone cable is like linguine (while most are like spaghetti), which I think makes them kink less and a little more resistant to potentially being cut or torn/stripped. The connector is 90 degree rather than straight, which isn't good or bad, but may affect your choice. It is quite flat, so it should work well with cell phones in a pocket and you won't need to worry about the cable bending near the connector.

In the interest of full disclosure, I switched out the rubber earpieces for a pair of the Comply T-200 isolation foam tips because I have never had luck with the silicone/rubber tips staying in my ears. With these, I am able to hear everything (which may affect my review, because the isolation makes listening very immersive). The sound is very balanced overall; the highs are strong, the mids are very full, and the bass can nearly be felt (across all genres - electronic, rap, rock, and classical). I imagine that these would perform similarly with the rubber tips; the foam definitely enhances the sound, but they do not compensate for anything.

Good headphones. Good bass. Nothing crazy. Don't expect some car audio bass from these, but it's worth the price. The cord is long enough to plug it into your phone and put it in your pocket while you work out. I'm 5'8"

Sounds really good but the bass isn't all that great. Although, I was expecting that because it is the higher end of the a-Jays and was told this before hand. I like the way they feel in my air and they are very effective when it comes to noise isolation. I can't hear anything around me while I am listening to music. I would recommend these.

Update July 2014
I have begun to experience an issue with a frayed wire from standard use and being well taken care of. I have emailed the seller to see about a resolution since they are less than a year old. I will update with further information.

I am pleasantly surprised by the a-jays. I ordered these as my Sennheiser IE8's are awaiting a cable replacement. I have owned many earbuds in my past, and for $60 you will not find a better pair of earbuds. Heck, I don't think you will find a better $100 earbuds! Bass is sloid and punchy, and highs start off a bit bright but after some burn in time they even out quite nicley.
