Let's start by saying that Balboa Series speakers are affordable, even for people whose disposable income mostly goes on things like food and rent. Now forget we ever mentioned anything about money, because the Balboa series uses materials and technologies developed directly from legendary JBL® professional loudspeakers and delivers the full dynamics of today's most exciting films and music. That's what's important. At least that's what's important once you know you can afford them.
The JBL Brand name is synonymous with bass and the Balboa SUB 10 is the perfect companion to your home theater system when you really want to rattle the walls for not much money. Using a cellulose 10" driver, bass is reproduced effortlessly and with maximum impact due to its strength and lightweight. To really get the woofer moving, the Balboa SUB 10 uses a powerful 100-watt amplifier that is both accurate and efficient. It's the perfect design for high-performance bass when the budget is tight and its JBL, so you know its going to sound good.
Since every room and speaker system is different you'll want to be able to tweak the performance of your powered subwoofer for the best sound possible and Balboa SUB 10 easily lets you do this. First, it features a dedicated LFE input for use with today's home theater receivers. Simply connect the SUB 10 to the subwoofer pre-out on the back of your receiver and you'll have top notch performance from 5.1 and 7.1 surround tracks. If you want to crank it up a bit, there is a subwoofer level control on the back to let you choose the level of bass that you prefer.
Have an older receiver that isn't 5.1 or 7.1? Are you planning to use the SUB 10 with a stereo receiver? The Sub 10 features a crossover control so you can precisely blend the sound with your main speakers. There is even a phase switch so you can make sure the bass output is in perfect phase with your front speakers.
The perfect powered subwoofer delivers room shaking bass but hides inconspicuously in the room. With a slim, attractive cabinet, the Balboa SUB 10 does just that. You'll enjoy deep, exciting bass without having to find a place for a "coffee table" sized subwoofer in your room.
JBL® loudspeakers have been the overwhelming choice of music and movie professionals for more than 60 years, prized for their power, accuracy and dynamic range. JBL speakers are behind the screens of more than 50 percent of all movie theaters and hang in the rafters of premier concert venues worldwide. Chances are, many of your favorite songs and movie soundtracks were mixed and mastered on JBL studio monitors. But you don't have to be a professional to bring the legendary JBL sound home. We build exceptional home entertainment systems that incorporate many of the same advanced technologies, materials and manufacturing techniques originally developed for our professional systems.
