Product Description

From the Manufacturer

This trapezoidal, 15" speaker system is at home in live sound, dance music and speech reinforcement. It's equipped with low and high-frequency drivers built in our Northridge, California factory. Features include the Dual-Angle, 35mm pole-mount socket as well as Neutrik® Speakon® and ¼" input connectors.

The JRX100 series delivers the performance and prestige JBL is known for at an affordable price point. To meet these conflicting design goals, we looked at every element of the speaker system design. We kept everything that makes a speaker perform and sound its best and we eliminated things that don't. With performance, value and popular price points, we are going to be building a lot of JRX100 speakers. This means we can apply efficient, high-volume production methods and purchase materials at the lowest cost. That's how JRX100 delivers unprecedented value.

Progressive Transition™ Waveguide
Just one example of JBL's innovation is the PT™ Waveguide design. For decades, horn designers were faced with trade-offs between well controlled coverage, low distortion, and good frequency response. JBL developed proprietary algorithms which give our PT Waveguides the best performance in all three areas.

Hardware
JRX100 doesn't scrimp on the hardware either. All the JRX models use tough, non-resonant all-steel handles with big, beefy bars. And the entire baffle (not just the woofer) is protected by an 18 gauge steel grille.

JBL Drivers
All woofers and compression drivers used in JRX100 are manufactured in Northridge, California by JBL Professional.

Enclosure Construction
Competitive systems typically use particle board construction and rely entirely on glue to hold it together. For JRX100, we selected a more rugged and acoustically superior 3/4" MDF material for the enclosures. And to make sure they stay together, we constructed them with advanced adhesives and closely spaced mechanical fasteners. Not only are the cabinets rugged, but the denser enclosure walls are more riged, delivering better low end as a result

SonicGuard™
Feedback, dropped microphones, pushing the amps into clipping - all these things can quickly destroy even the best high-frequency drivers. That's why JBL JRX100 speakers include SonicGuard™ protection. SonicGuard circuitry absorbs excess energy without interrupting the performance. No circuit breakers to reset, no fuses to replace and no "poly-switches" to degrade sound quality.

I got two of these speakers, and I use them to play party music for long periods of time. Sometimes I use these speakers outside as well, and they appear to be holding up well to the outdoor weather conditions. The sound is crisp and clean, while at the same time the bass is deep and carries far. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good speaker at a reasonable price.

Was a little bit disappointed after reading several negative reviews on these speakers. The fact is some people do not know how to mix and match speakers to power amplifiers and there is where the problem begins. Get a powerful amp to push them and you will experience the difference. If you have a weak amp you will get harsh sounds from the horns and lack the bass. In order to get a very good listening experience you must get some subwoofers. Get at least a pair of Cerwin Vega and enjoy them.

These are the best speakers I have ever owned. I have owned them for over 5 years now and have done many live gigs with them and not one problem. Also the sound quality and blend is superb! I would definitely recommend these speakers if you can get a deal on them as I did.

I needed some hefty speakers which are powerful enough even for larger venues (as core Karaoke/monitor) speakers....these work amazingly....sure they are like 60 pounds a piece and about 125 pounds as a pair....but I love them.....They sound amazing.....and even if I don't have my QSC amplifier with me.....they can be connected to one of the outputs directly on the mixer....This way of using them lessens the sound quality and lowers the power so I would only want to run them that way if it was a very small venue....They have great lows, potent mids, and great high range....I highly recommend these to anybody looking for a great set of speakers....Can never go wrong with any speakers built by JBL though....from my experience.....which is why I picked these...I have seen reviews where people were trashing the speakers saying they did not work very well, didn't sound very good didn't hit low notes very solidly....And then they went on in their review to say that they recommend getting a second set of "vocal" speakers cause these don't work very well for that....Well I TOTALLY disagree with anybody who says that....If you get a high quality amp to run them on....they cover the full range and the mix of vocals and beats and music blend beautifully....can't go wrong with these.....and they are rugged and solid so they are tough enough to handle any conditions and handling indoor or outdoor, as well as holding up greatly to being loaded and unloaded and loaded and unloaded from event to event. These are incredible!

I got a set of these for my basement and they work great. They don't
have to be blasted to sound good. They are sort of large, but if you
have a big room, they are not bad. Nice clear sound. Brightness can
be reduced by just turning down the treble a little. I'm pushing them
with only 205 wpc and that seems like plenty for home use. Where else
can you get a decent sounding horn speaker for $220?
