Incredible Sound Quality. I have gone though several Center Channel Speaker from Cerwin Vega to Advents and this one has to be the best I have heard. JBL are known for quality and this product is an example of their work. The 3/4" tweeter provides a crips and outstanding high range vocals with no distortion, unlike previous center speakers I have owned in the past. The Dual 5" midrange cones also give give depth to most situations that occur in whatever movie you may be watching. The blockbuster movies that are on dvd do sound fantastic with this speaker, not tinny or hollow but full, rich and animated. Not to mention the newest DTS titles coming up! Jurassic Park will be a reference quality disc to try on this speaker, that is certain. This is one of the best speakers I have owned. The price can't be beat either. All I can say is the combination of price and great quality in design and sound of this speaker just can not be beat. This is a must have.

The first thing I noticed was how natural the dialogue and voices sounded. It was truly centered when it needed to be and when it required a fron-to-back pan, everything was entirely smooth. I personally have mediocre speakers all around but wanted to spend a bit more on the center channel speaker as the focal point of upgrading my system and I couldn't resist this one when I tested it at my local store. I am a big fan of JBL products and this one definitely continues their line of excellent products.

Weaknesses: None that I've noticed at this price.

For years I had just used my TV speaker as a center speaker. Why? The center speaker I wanted to get went out of business and I just never got around to buying a center speaker. JBL has been a leader in the speaker world,,it was at a good price so I decided to treat myself to one. Wow, what I was missing for so long. I can't compare it with other center speakers, but this JBL is simply awesome. It has a very clear and sharp sound that brought out the total listening pleasure of my surround speakers. Now when a cannon shoots, I jump. You can't go wrong with this speaker.

I bought the whole set of surround speakers all of them JBL, and for this speaker I have to say that it's really good. At first, I didn't really care much about the center speaker, till I really found out what it really does. Most of the dialog and main sounds from a movie come out through a center speaker, while the front and surround serve for music and effects.
This speaker it's pretty good. The two 5" woofers handle everything from music to movies without a hassle. They handle bass pretty good, and the tweeter is also very good and clear.
Very good combination with any "northridge series" speakers.
I have two front ND 310-II, a N-Center, and N-24 surround, accompanied by a Powersound P12 JBL woofer.
Perfect combination for a perfect surround system.

JBL has successfully voiced matched (timbre) the N-Center to the JBL N24s, where together (after REF Level Calibration via Video Essentials DVD), they provide a much more convincing, extremely wide front & surround stage. The N-Center locks the dialog in the center of the TV clearly with realistic impact. The success of this N-Center and N24's is evident by the common accolades that describes the NSP1 HT Speaker package: "Timbre matching; sound was superb; Imaging was excellent; smooth, uniform response; rich and clear; pleasingly natural with stereo music; articulate, focused, and well balanced."...

An excellent Home Entertainment Center Channel Speaker at an affordable price.

I have a bit of a problem with this speaker, it really is TOO loud. No joke, the sound is overbearing, and when you're listening to something low Fidelity like tv or a tape, the hiss produced by this extremely sensitive center gets anoying. Will distort at extremely high volumes with extremely powerful amps (such as my 550w yamaha) but at that point, it is too loud to hear anything more then the tearing of your eardrums. Buy this speaker only if you have high end front and rear speakers, or else you won't be able to hear them

I tried the JBL speakers and I have to say - things I cooked in the 1 inch Titanium tweeter tastest wierd. Other than that they are pretty good.
