Great sound, a pleasure to use.,

I just purchased these two days ago as an upgrade from my ipod 5.5g stock headphones. I was looking for an affordable pair of headphones that would provide decent sound qaulity. I usually do a little research on things before I buy them, but decided to give these a try given JBL's reputation on home speakers and the price.
I will say I am very impressed with the sound. Now these do seem to favor the low end and if you like bass, these would be a good pick. After adjusting the EQ to bring up some middle and high end to equal out the lows, these sound awesome. The construction seems adequate, and for comfort they seem pretty good, they do fit snuggly on my head and after wearing for a couple hours at a time, no problem. Very pleased. I like the in line volume control and also the fold-up portability. I am listening to these on my ipod with my music ripped at aac 192 vbr. So to summarize: Great overall sound Good snug fit Compact sturdy design Bass heavy B+ on comfort, A- on sound

I got these headphones to use during exercising. Their compact, foldable design makes them a pretty good choice for that, and the current Amazon bargain price was acceptable. They're also comfortable enough for that use.
However, the sound reproduction is mediocre indeed. It's muddy, and lacks definition in the high end. There's over-emphasis on the bass, but it's not the thumping bass you may be expecting. It's indistinct and fuzzy. I compared them side-by-side with my desktop headphones, which are Sony MDR-V6 Monitor Series, admittedly a higher-end product, but the difference was quite dramatic. For a product that claims to be a "reference", the JBLs are disappointing. I may use them at the gym, but I won't be using them anywhere else. If you really want good sound, or even decent sound, you should look elsewhere. If you just want something better than earbuds for your MP3 player, then I guess these will do.

What a great pair of headphones! I use these at work, where I want something light and compact, but sounds great too. The on-ear padding is very comfortable, while the headband is snug and fits my head well. I also like that these headphones don't mess up my hair, since the small cups don't go over my ears.
Sound-wise, the bass is great for the type of music I listen to (electronic). They are plenty loud and there is no distortion at higher levels.

It delivers great sound quality and it looks like a $100 headphone. I really love the sound. However, it is too small. You'll be surprised if you only look at the picture and buy it. You need to extend the arms, unless you're a kid, and the bad thing is it's really hard to extend it. Probably because it is small, it's tighter and not really comfortable compared to other headphones. I don't like listening to it for elongated period. I think it's better for women with small head.

For The Price, Can't Be Beat,

I picked up these headphones at Staples when they were on sale. After using these for a few days, I have found that overall, for the price, these are an excellent pair of headphones for any use: iPods, Creation of Music, Movies, etc.
As said, these have a great bass response, although to counter-act it, I had to increase Treble on my computer and iPod so it wouldn't be over powering. Comfort wise, they fit over the ears nicely and definitely are something which can be worn for a while. However, if you are using these for a long journey or an extended period of time, I would highly recommend going with over the ear headphones, as these, being on-ear, can irritate your ears after a few hours of use. In addition, these headphones are not noise-canceling, although with the in line volume control, act as such most of the time. For true noise canceling, JBL has this model with this feature for around $50. Pros: Great Bass Response Small, Light, and Portable Excellent Quality Sound Slick Design Cons: Comfort decreases over time Overall, 4/5 stars for another excellent JBL Product.

After realizing that my midnight music may be keeping my siblings up at night, I decided to research for good headphones. Decided to research for a pair of headphones that were affordable and may have noise cancelling features. Thought of the Bose Comfort 3 Noise cancelling headphones, but at their price decided to look for something more affordable. Stopped by a local Staples to check out regular headphones and stumbled upon these JBL Reference 410s (am I glad that I ran into these puppies). Didn't purchase them on the spot, but went back to work after lunch was over and researched them. Not too many reviews, but I knew that JBL made quality audio products at reasonable prices. After short of using a chainsaw to open the internal packaging sealing the headphones, I realized that the headband was very rigid (new product I suppose), but have since then gotten much loose. Have been using them for a few hours and love them. Clear sound, good strong bass without any hiss or distortion. And the best part of the whole thing is that although it may not be noise cancelling, it surely does act like it is. Can't hear my any surrounding noise, and I live right behind a high school which constantly has athletic events on their football field. Music I'm playing off of my XM radio has totally silenced the announcer. Great buy if you're looking for a quality pair of headphones that aren't priced ridiculously high.

These headphones certainly have extended bass but the sound quality is muddled. No clear tones. I recently bought the Seinhauser headphones that are $10.00 cheaper and the sound quality on them is much better.

I have used it for simple classes (not music), the voice quality is good, but it press high on your ears and become annoying after a couple of hours.
Also the wire is not long enough.

I got these for my brother as a gift. They are definitely a good buy at the current price, but the sound isn't anything close to what an audiophile would expect.. so all in all, these are good for a casual listener who isn't too critical of the sound quality but wants a step up from your run of the mill headphones. Also, they are a bit small with a short cord. They might be a snug fit on some.

I bought these to replace a set of Sennheiser HD 570's that were wearing out. I found these to be quite comfortable and sound very good. It's nice having the volume attenuator. These are quite a bit more efficient than the Sennheisers so they are good for portable devices. For the price on Amazon (< $30), these are a good value. I also recommend the Koss PortaSound 2's
