This 4-way, floor-standing tower with 200-watt powered woofer section reproduces sound with incredible power, while preserving the clarity and detail of the original recording. The custom-designed MDF enclosure and Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) waveguide provide unparalleled spaciousness and definition. The pure-titanium tweeter and the midrange transducer are mounted on a Linear Field Proximity (LFP) bezel that ensures a seamless transition between the middle and high frequencies. The PolyPlas (polymer-coated cellulose fiber) cone woofer features traditional JBL engineering, the same technologies used in JBL's professional equipment that can be found in stadiums, music halls, and movie theaters around the world.

Shielded components allow placement near video monitors. High-temperature, oversized Kapton voice coil, and HeatScape motor structure allow these speakers to effortlessly play all types of movies and music. The woofers are built on cast-aluminum frames, which reduce distortion and increase power-handling capability. A low-diffraction IsoPower baffle directs the sound power into the room, reducing distortion caused by cabinet vibration. The lock-mitred, computer-designed enclosure requires no bracing. The FreeFlow flared port increases bass response without adding unwanted port noise. JBL's custom-designed drivers allow the use of simple, Straight-Line Signal Path (SSP) crossover networks with high-quality electrical components that minimize processing that could degrade the signal. All Studio Series loudspeakers are equipped with all-metal, 5-way, gold-plated, binding, post-speaker terminals.

I have long been a fan of JBL speakers and have waited too long to splurge on decent speakers. (I wanted to buy the L100's in 1980 but did not have the cash!!) The S412PII speakers arrived today after a several week wait, but it sure was worth the wait. You will need help bringing them in at 100 pounds each!! Amazon's offer for these speakers with no sales tax and no shipping make this a deal that any audiophile should not pass on. Compare these speakers to any other speaker under $5k with the built in powered sub and you will not be dissappointed. Your only dissappointment will be in waiting, check JBL's website and you will not see these because they are being disscontinued. So act fast. These speakers will really rock the house or sound incredible at low levels. Do yourself another favor, when you order, get the Eagles When Hell Freezes over DVD, sit back, open a cold one and enjoy.

Originally, I purchased this new, but it arrived used. I know because I already have purchased two of the same product new in the past. So buyers beware of previously opened products! I would attach pictures but no where to attach them! What is advertised is not what you will always get!

Paid 399 ea and free shipping.speakers arrived in perfect shape.system consists of yamaha dsp-a1 7.1 home theater system with yamaha m-65(170watts min@8ohms)powering main pair of s-412s also s-312s for front efects,L100t's rear and infinity center.the s-412s eliminate need for seperate subwoofer.the new led zep video sounds crystal clear and vibrates the windows.the built in subs are awsome -in the Two Towers it feels like the Ents are walking in your living room.get them while you can.
