This speaker system makes you feel the sensation of being inside a movie theater in your own home. You don't have to be afraid of connecting it to devices of different branches (I have a Pioneer amplifier and a Sony DVD player), because it gives you the same excellent performance. You hear clear voices from the central speaker, feel surrounding sound experience from the four satellite speakers and pumping-in-your-chest bass from the not-so-huge but powerful subwoofer. I bought it because I know JBL focuses in speakers and they are always trying to improve their products. I waited a couple of years for the opportunity to buy my first speaker system. And it was a worthy waiting.

I'm really impressed with this speaker package.The satellites are crisp and clean. The powered subwoffer really packs a punch. I wouldn't recommend these speakers if you have a large room,but for a smaller room or apartment,they are great.My home theater set-up includes the following: Yamaha HTR-5440, Toshiba 1402 DVD, Pioneer D504 Laserdisc, Mitsubishi U760 S-VHS VCR.

I too was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of this speaker system. The four satellites are really tiny (like 6 inches high)so a previous reviewer suggested, this system would probably NOT work too well in a large room. The sub-woofer is also compact and brings out the bass lines nicely. I hooked mine up to some Pioneer audio equipment and a Sony TV. Can't go wrong for the price.

I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw how tiny the JBL SCS135 speakers are, but after hearing them, all doubt vanished. At 100 watts per channel, these speakers are little sticks of dynamite. With these beauties, I guarantee that your home movie experience will never be the same.

This six speaker package delivers rich, 5.1 digital surround sound. ("5.1" really means 6 speakers. The "5" encompass 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, and a center speaker. The ".1" is the subwoofer.) While the center speaker provides crystal clear dialog, the front satellites deliver a deep, rich tapestry of music and sound effects. The rear satellites add the depth and reality of environmental ambient sound.

The four satellites are true 2-way speakers with titanium-laminate dome tweeters. The center channel speaker provides crystal clear dialog by using the same transducers as the satellites for seamless pans, but also has two midranges for extra power and clarity. The satellite and center speakers are all video-shielded for convenient placement near a television.

Despite their dimunitive size, the four satellites and center speaker feel solid and are extremely durable. Their hard shell casing prevents the majority of accidental damage.

The 100-watt powered subwoofer delivers thunderous, penetrating bass. It has a convenient separate volume control on the back to adjust the amount of bass you want your gut to feel. Also, it has an "always on" mode as well as a "standby" mode that kicks in automatically when it senses the right signal. The subwoofer has two installation methods; one for Dolby Pro Logic (analog) and the other for Dolby Digital, DTS, or other digital surround processors.

All cables and satellite wall-mount brackets are included. Each satellite comes with secure wall-mount brackets (minus screws). When mounted, the satellites can be pivoted horizontally to enable one to direct the sound exactly. The center channel speaker has an adjustable support leg to angle it just right.

JBL has been the world leading speaker manufacturer for a prolong time. This particular model is one of JBL mid-cost home theater speaker system. 2 front; 1 center; 2 rear; and a subwoofer that "out-booms the rest. The dome tweeters are made of tuff titanium-laminate and can handle power of 100W per speakers. The subwoofer consist of an 8" speaker with a bass-reflect box which in turns produces a tight bass sound. The appearance is small, sleek and durable. Comes complete with all hardwares for mounting the speakers and speaker wires.

I for one highly recommend Monster Cable for your wiring. You have paid for a best speaker system. Make sure it has the best cables that will bring this system alive.
