Get seamless cinema-quality surround sound with JBL's SCS136SI seven-piece home theater speaker package for 5.1 and 6.1 surround-sound systems. It features an 8-inch, 100-watt subwoofer that has an LFE input for connection to Dolby Digital and DTS sources as well as non-LFE configurations (such as Dolby Pro Logic), a center channel speaker, and five satellite speakers with advanced titanium-laminate-dome tweeters. The satellite and center speakers (both 3 inches) use the same transducers for seamless pans and are all video-shielded for convenient placement near a television. The center channel also provides two midrange drivers for extra power and clarity in the dialogue channel. The subwoofer's bass reflex enclosure produces deep, clean bass that will rock your movie nights at home.

Tech Talk
LFE: Stands for Low Frequency Effects, which are typically deep, booming bass sounds added to the .1-channel audio track for Dolby Digital, DTS, and SDDS sound systems and reproduced by the subwoofer. Because it is extra and not essential to the soundtrack, it is given the ".1" designation.

If you are looking for a good speaker system for a great value, this is the system to get. I am an amateur home theatre enthusiast, and I recently bought this system to go finish my home theatre system. Every movie I have watched with friends and family, I have always gotten complements on how great these speakers sound. I don't use the 5th satellite speaker because my reciever only handles 5.1 digital surround (It's 4 year old Sony reciever that was top notch then) but it still sounds perfect. For movies, XBox and playstation or even just the t.v., this system sounds great. The sound is very clear, and even the subwoofer when turned up can pound away at all the bass effects in movies and video games. A must buy for someone looking for quality, performance AND above all, VALUE. Great job JBL.

I'm certainly more of an enthusiast than a trained expert when it comes to surround sound/home theatre... not to mention a price conscious consumer - okay, I'm always on the hunt for a good deal! When I came across this speaker system, I was suprised at what a big bang for the buck it was. Went to Worst Buy to actually hear the system (which I would suggest). Of course the kid working the speaker room was prepared to set me up with a much heftier sub, larger fronts, etc. For my application (6.1 Surround), it not only met my needs, but didn't freak out my wife. Sorry, I guess I'm one of those people that don't want a dorm room look for a theatre system.

I have a 3 year old Sony Receiver(top of the line when I bought it) I have had a pair of KLH 3 way tower speakers w/12" woofers, two KLH satellites and a sony center channel. My system sounded pretty good till the large speakers became annoying after our last move. I searched around for a smaller set and came across these in HHGregg for 299.99. They sounded awesome in the store. I didn't buy them in the store, I waited till later the same night and found them on Amazon for $100 less and ordered them. Let me tell you, when it comes to home theatre, size doesn't necessarily make the grade. I'm blown away and my large speakers are blown out. This is a great buy!!!
