This review is from: JBL EON 315 Self-Powered Two-Way 15-inch 280-Watt Lightweight Speaker with EQ (Electronics)
I purchased this speaker to use at work for presentations. It's a little heavy, but you can use it in a small setting or in a large outdoor setting. I've used these speakers for groups up to 300 people without any problems. The best thing about these is that the amplifier is built-in so you don't have to carry around a separate unit--just plug a mic in and you're all set. They are very portable and constructed so that they won't break if you accidentally bump them into something. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone in need of a portable and versatile PA system.

3 weeks after using this it no longer powers up. I thought I could avoid this scenario by going with the JBL brand.Music is awesome, crystal clear, great bass, I can feel the floor shake when I'm upstairs and the speaker is downstairs, and although its loud, its not ear piercing. Full sound, I can't say enough good things. I tried hooking it up to my iPhone, Mac, and PC, worked perfect. Playing it with my television is another story. Most shows it plays pretty good, but some movies and my "ON DEMAND" shows it was terrible, not clear at all. I hooked it up directly to TV/Projector with and without my Behringer mixer and it sucked, lots of fuzziness, not clear at all. Watching Green Lantern ON DEMAND was terrible. Watching football on live tv is perfect. Go figure. You could hear some "buzz" sound when its idle, it could be my wires, not sure. The buzz seems to disappear when there is audio being played. I was using the power cable it came with, 20 foot XLR TRS cable ($20), and a 10 foot 3.5mm to TRX cable($14). Behringer XENYX 802 Mixer ($49). I bought the JBL EON from Guitar Center ($440, Fountain Valley, CA) during a sale, I think the price on Amazon was $550 when I made the purchase. Side Note: Highly recommend a mixer not attached to the speaker, gives you more control. There are 3 presets on the onboard mixer, unless you are using a seperate subwoofer with it, I don't see the purpose of it, and it already has plenty of bass. Last night, Halloween Night, it started making a popping sound, did some troubleshooting, I noticed if i move the power cable around where it attached to the speaker the power would go on and off and yes it was fully inserted as were all other cables. This morning it doesn't power on at all. I spent hours getting my Halloween themed music tracks ready for the trick or treaters, what a waste. The only good thing is that it broke before the 30 day return policy goes into effect so Guitar Center took it back and I got another one. The store clerk was very helpful and said this problem is not common, so i took my chances and didn't buy the 2 year warranty ($94). Giving it 1 and a half stars cuz not sure if this unit is meant to be used with TV/Projector and it did break, but it rocks with music. I'll give more feedback on round 2 with the JBL EON self powered 315, 280 watts, ASAP.
