This book is absolutely amazing and is something I highly recommend!!! The pictures are wonderful and they go hand-in-hand with the easy to read text. Although I had to wait for the book to ship, it was well worth the wait! From the past to the present, this book covers everything that you want to know!!!

Wonderful book full of all of JBL's most notable speakers and a fascinating general history of audio in America. If you are a Jbl speaker freak like me it is a must have. Well priced as I could have paid three times as much in Australia for this.

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. There's nothing in this book worth reading, its mostly a compilation of marketing material easily found on the net. There are no in depth reviews of any speakers, even the iconic JBLs and many aren't even mentioned in the book. Waste of money, you can easily find all the materials in this book and a even a lot more easily and quickly with google.

As a former sound engineer and as a proud owner of various JBL speakers for 35 years, I was looking forward to this book. Unfortunately, there is little here that can't be viewed online for free (especially at [...]) and what is here is haphazard, poorly written, and sloppily edited. The writer's voice and tenses shift from page to page, and information is occasionally repeated from one paragraph to the next. One product listing might tell you who engineered it and when it was manufactured; the product next to it might contain little more than a photograph. There's a nice chapter on the development of the JBL logo, but most of the content seems like regurgitated marketing material.

I am curious as to the status for this book. I ordered a copy sometime back in December and I am still waiting for it to ship. Amazon keeps pushing the date that they plan on "shipping" the book. Why doesn't anyone admit that the book hasn't even been published yet? I cannot wait to see it, but have little faith that this will happen...
