FIRST, THE POSITIVE: I must say that it's breaking my heart to RETURN these headphones. I absolutely LOVE the sound quality and clarity, especially of dialog. For older folks with bad hearing, it is great to have all that crispness and clarity to the dialog - along with solid, tight and really obvious sub-woofer style bass. Next best thing is - ZERO static or cut-outs, as was the big problem with Sony 925 model. I also have a pair of RCA units which work very well, but lack crispness & clarity to dialog; so that's why I bought these (while looking at BEST BUY for Sony 970 model). Another plus: no breakup, static, or loss of signal until I reached the middle of the street in front of my house, which is over 100 feet from the base. Functionality is mostly outstanding - except for the volume. Controls are convenient and easy to use; and overall quality is great for the price.

NOW, THE NEGATIVE: first thing I noticed - was no reasonable volume, at least when connected to the RCA jacks of the TV. I got around this by connecting to the Headphone jack of my Receiver - where I got plenty of power which I could control with the remote for the stereo receiver. Next big problem, which will likely not bother MOST people, was too much pressure on my head; they were quite snug, and actually caused a headache the first night (this became less bothersome over following days). HOWEVER, I have a rather big head, and wear a size XXL motorcycle helmet. Finally, the BIG problem was the sound delay - similar to blue-tooth, but not that bad. The sound lags slightly from what comes from TV or other speakers by a fraction of a second - just enough to confuse the listening when the speakers are on.

just got them. needed so kids can study in a quiet environment while i watch tv. the padding on the earcups doesn't stay on as well as i would like or i would have given them 5 stars. the right earphone has two batteries in it but doesn't seem any heavier than the left one. The sound is clear and i can't vouch for the signal cause i sit 20 feet from the transmitter. so far, they're what i wanted. the cables supplied with the unit didn't work for me because i needed stereo component on both ends, and the cable supplied only had component on one end. no big deal. i had the necessary cable on hand. so far, i like 'em.

Better than I thought!

After reading some of the reviews I wondered if I was buying something out of a cracker jack box.

I love the theater sound and the ability to control the volume on my headset. My wife loves it too. She gets quiet and I have peace knowing I'm no longer the sound terrorist.

Obviously this unit is on the low end of the headset spectrum. Compare it to $80 units and you could probably label it junk. On it's own and given it's performance it's a nice setup that doesn't take all your gas money.

Oh yeah, there are some comments out there about ear foam that comes off. Plastic rings are glued to the foam.
1. Use small drops of superglue on the side that doesn't have battery door.
2. On battery door side try some properly sized velcrow (sp?) pieces.

Pros:
-Good sound quality
-Uses two rechargeable AAA
-Price

Cons:
-Not comfortable for long term wear
-Left side padding always comes off (mentioned by others)
-Takes a few tries to get the contacts right to start the charge

Personally, I did not find the volume level of the headphone too low. When I use it at night its probably less than 50% volume and feels quite loud. This one says over the ear but the padding is small that its sits on your ears. This makes long term wearing unbearable.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that everytime I turn on the headphone, the volume level is reset. It is too loud for my listening at night, so I always have to adjust the volume. I believe they should made it opposite to prevent ear damage (e.g. start at lower volume)

Bought these off the "used" section on Amazon and saved $20 - GREAT sound quality - agree with other reviewer that they don't get loud but they are more than adequate because they cover your ear and block out ambient noise. The only annoying thing is that the ear cups are removable and the tabs to lock them in place on the headset don't grip very tight but easy fix was to put a piece of tape over tabs to create some friction when locking them on headset.

This product is terrible and in no way is a reflection on the seller. The volume for this headset is way too low. I'm in an office environment and with it at full volume I can still hear people talking around me with ease. It does not get loud enough. The batteries for the earphones are inside each earpiece so you have to unscrew the speaker covers to replace them. The problem with this design is that these keep coming loose and fall off when I am handling these headphones. Even when I am not twisting them. It's hard to tighten them down because the covering that goes over this cheap piece of plastic slips and is cheap too. I have to jiggle it in the base station every time in order to get it to make contact with the charging connectors and sometimes I have to push it to lean backwards to make it charge. This thing is a giant piece of junk and you should look elsewhere for a better product.
