5.0 out of 5 stars Great Plug and Play Sound For The Price
Just got the JWIN headset. Plug and play out of the box (Vista). Great sound too from my laptop. I have a pair of regular JWIN headphones but had to route the audio out through an amp to get adequate volume. The JBM55's play great directly from the USB port. Nice accessory for less than 25 bucks.

I own a Dell Inspiron 531 with Windows Vista. I bought this headset to play video games and talk over Voice IP. So I plug this in and the system automatically detects it. Keep in mind, the plug is a USB and you want to make sure you have USB ports on your computer. After you plug it in, the headset is now the default audio and mic output. 4.0 out of 5 stars Head and shoulders with the rest..., June 11, 2009

The product may come off as chinsey due to the fact that it's an off-brand electronics item. This fact also lays way to techno-fobia in the light of getting taken for a ride on a piece of scrap.

While not Logitech or Microsoft branded the headset is quite good. The unit was immediately recognized by Vista. The microphone was instantly set as the primary recording device and the headset stereophonic speakers automagically became the primary audible output device as well. I had zero percent setup tasking as the system went in smoothly. Quite the plug and play scenario.

The headset harness is somewhat large and accommodating for the cranially excessive but, the less skull mass inclined might want to invest in a pad for the the crown harness.

The speakers can be excrutiatingly loud which is good considering that all one has to do is turn the things down. The magic of science and what is known as a volume control. The speakers have an extraordinary frequency range for a less known device like this and the sound is crisp with excellent fidelity.

The mic is somewhat annoying as it is not a solid boom but a flexible bendy-boom where you'll have to take a minute or two to adjust it bringing it in for optimal performance. There isn't allot of feedback from the mic in the headset but upon setting up the mic with Windows through a test of the voice recognition system you will see that the mic works really well.

For just over $20 it goes without saying that this is one of those sleeper buys with great value for the money.

I gave this item 4 out of 5 stars due to the fact that the head harness is a bit unwieldly. Outside of this solitary issue the item in question is of an excellent value. Anyone not excedingly concerned about a snug fit but, are instead looking at the item from a performance basis could ascertain that a proper rating of 5 out of 5 stars is accurate.

This product works great. I use it mostly for VoIP conversations and I have never had a problem. The people on the other end can always hear me and I can hear a flea sneeze on the other end. I am very impressed.

When you open a program such as Winamp or any program that gives out audio, the audio is played from your headset. The audio sounds fantastic and I have no problem using the mic.

One little flaw with the volume control on the headset. You can hear the sound fairly well at the lowest setting, meaning the volume is set at zero. Sound is still coming out and its playing between 10-15dB, which is somewhat loud for me. Another flaw is that when you unplug it, sounds won't come out from your external speakers. You have to restart the the program to get your external speakers to work again. Depending on the program or software you are using, an error may pop up after you unplug your headset and the program won't work (such as using Winamp).

As for comfort, it feels ok. The ear piece is quite large and your ears will feel a bit warm. Other than that, I think its comfortable.

Ordered my headset a few months back and got it in less than a week. Just plug it in and your all set to go, remember to adjust the volume on it, its set a little loud. Very comfortable to wear and it won't hurt your ears, unless you didn't fix the volume on it like I said lol, but really comfortable to wear and it essentially drowns out all but the loudest noises around you so you are able to immerse yourself in a song, video or video game.

The adjustable microphone is a godsend for me since I like to talk to my friends online when they are away or with gaming friends on World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings Online.

If I were you, I would seriously consider buying this. 5 stars!

The headset got recognized by Windows vista Sp2, easily set it self up, it switched to the default sound device on its own.

The headset was VERY loud i had to set the volume down to 2, and had to turn the mic's sensitivity down to 25.
My Ears started hurting after a few hours of use, its good for VoIP, but not for prolonged use.

I bought these for about $20 on Amazon for VoiP and PS3 online gaming.

Headphones are big and the sound is loud. You have to adjust the sound level on your computer for it to be comfortable.

Set up is very easy, just configure your program to the headphones.

My PS3 recognizes them in the Accessories Menu, with the mic & speakers working fine. The problem is, once I leave that menu, the headphones won't work anymore.

I asked those who made the comments that it works on their PS3 for help, but none of them have responded. Due to their lack of detail and the fact that I couldn't get it to work, I have to believe they will not work for PS3 online gaming.

All in all, it's a good deal, but don't get them for your PS3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Treat them well, June 28, 2010

This review is from: jWINin JBM55 PC/Gaming Stereo Headphones with Microphone and In-line Digital Volume Control/USB (Personal Computers)
I am on the second set of these headphones because I am a big klutz. The headphones themselves are fantastic; super easy to use, mostly comfortable and great sound and mic quality. However, treat them well because they don't stand up to abuse. The first 3 months I had them I used them for fairly regular WoW raiding and never had a problem with them, and after I had my baby and quit WoW I have used them for watching/listening to Hulu and Youtube and stuff. After about a year of dropping them and accidentally yanking the cord, they finally gave up the ghost. I just ordered a second pair and hope to treat them better. ;) So really, barring user abuse they should last you pretty well.
