The JCT Standard Form of Building Contract With Contractor's Design has established itself as the leading form for design and build work since it was first published in 1981.

The contract was reissued in 1998 as WCD 98, so as to include a range of important amendments, numerous corrections, and recent cases. In particular, it considers the content of the massive amendment 12, introduced following the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996, and the Scheme for Construction Contracts. The chapter on the Scottish Building Contract With Contractor's Design has also been updated.

Book Description

Design and build is a very popular form of procurement for construction work and the JCT Standard Form for Design and Build work is well established and used widely. In 2005 the Joint Contracts Tribunal produced a revised Design and Build Contract together with a Design and Build Subcontract. There are also now two new contract administration forms on interim payments and instructions. This well regarded book by a well known contracts commentator has been revised to cover the latest 2005 contracts. It also discusses two important cases on novation and the contractor's responsibility for design which have been decided since the last edition of the book was published in 1999, and looks in particular at third party risks. --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.
