I have owned the GE JES1344SK for three months. The heating is very even with no hot spot problems, due to having the turntable design.

The readout is bright. The cabinet and door construction is very good. I especially like the high quality finish on the door AND case. When you receive this oven you need to remove the blue protective plastic from the cabinet. I have read other reviews describing the oven case to be blue. Apparently the reviewer did not read the instructions to remove the blue plastic on the cabinet to reveal a beautiful satin stainless finish.

The rotary control is very refreshing to use rather than the conventional push button panel, but it takes some learning.

I have found this microwave oven to be excellent in every way, and highly recommend it.

I am using this microwave for last 3 years. It has very nice attractive features. Look is just excellent. Who ever comes to my home says "it looks nice and different" but anyway, the main reason to buy this product was the open door handle as my previous one had handle and it was working just perfect rather than push button opening. It's a single operation door opening compared to when you have to push the button and open the door. It has a huge cavity and can put almost all household dishes.

Down sides are many. Despite of the look and some and only some user friendly operations, the door handle is not that soft as I though of. You have to pull hard and specially to close the door, every time it makes a big slamming noise. Specially in the night time I have to use both the hands to carefully open and close just to avoid the noise. I have had incidents and guests, including my wife slightly touched the dial wrong way and it starts 99 minutes of cooking time. Not only food get burned dangerously but it's a serious fire hazard. I am just wondering, how come GE engineers can not think that you can not go below zero. There is nothing below zero time, it's just stupid that below zero, all of the sudden 99 minutes. One would argue that who would do 99 minutes and before starting cooking button at least look at the display but the problem is it's not a fool proof design. I had the incidents, that's the proof. It's only 1000 watts compared to the huge size, one can definitely make mistake in calculating cooking time. Top grill looks good but is literally a joke. THE MOST ANNOYING part of the system is the BEEP sound when it finish the cooking time. It keep making every few minutes until you open the door. You have to stand there to finish the cooking time. I mean you can not engage yourself to something else while it's cooking. Beep sound will keep hammering the head. You can not cancel the same 3 times beep when it finish cooking even if you press stop button. I always press stop button when it has one second left to avoid that sound.

The body is really well made and hats off for that but it is missing the soul. It's like a super model posing without a charm.

Bought the first one. It had a faulty display, whole display would light up and flash randomly.

Took it back and exchanged it for another one

The second one completely failed after a month. First I noticed the clock would be off every once and a while, then the Kitchen timer stopped randomly, then it ceased to microwave.

Took it back for a refund.

This product is not worth the hassle.
