Interior paint peels.,
By Liberty Street (Milford, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: GE JES1460DNWW 1.4 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven - White
I was happy with my GE microwave for about a year. Now, at a year and a half, the paint is peeling under the turntable - big 4-5 inch bubbles of peeling paint. Check the web. This is a common problem with GE microwaves. Very disappointing.

Recieved in good order, packaged well. The GE JES1460DNWW 1.4 cu ft. microwave oven is an excellent product. fast cooking, plenty of space for even large items. clean button panel, and very easy to use.

Decent but doesn't last,
This review is from: GE JES1460DNWW 1.4 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven - White
I used this exact model microwave for roughly 2 years. It performed acceptably. The unit cooked reasonably well, and the express buttons that one reviewer faulted are very handy as 1 - 6 minute cook presets. I had a couple of minor issues with mine, and finally last week, after 2 years of moderate use it just died. The door switches are okay, the fuse is okay, so it is something more serious.
Alas, this unit went to the dump and I broke my retired Emerson (made in 1991) back out of retirement and it is working as good as new.........it had seen almost 18 years of heavy use before its "retirement" (retired not due to being defective......just that the GE was priced right and looked better in the kitchen.) I dusted the Emerson off, cleaned it up and it runs and looks like new. It is only .1 cf smaller than the GE so the size difference is immaterial. GE products look good, but in my experience, they do not hold up and are not constructed as well as they were years ago.
