These screw jacks are heavy compared to Simplex brand screw jacks. If you are working in a crawl space a few pounds can mean a lot. The jacks were made in China. I found a set of 12 ton screw jacks made by Simplex which were lighter, easier to use and US made. The price was comparable if not cheaper. At the time, the Simplex jacks were not sold by Amazon.com. If you need screw jacks and can't find used ones then I would perform an internet search and find the Simplex jacks.

JET SJ-20-Ton Screw Jack: I admit I have not used the two I just bought, But - it says below the ad "Customers who bought this - also bought the 3/4" Turning Bar."

This bar IS needed to use the jack. These Jacks do NOT come with this bar.

Amazon should update this listing to show it is both needed AND NOT included.

Also - order together (if buying direct from Amazon) to save on shipping.

And shipping can be a big cost when 'Weighing' the Total cost of purchase.

These relatively inexpensive house jacks work very well. I bought two and I've used them several times alreay.

Very sturdy jack and turns smoothly. I am using this to get a low floor joist back in place and it lifts with ease. From the looks of it I will have this for some time as it seems very well built. Arrived very quickly.

I use a pair of these jacks for added floor support underneath my stackable washer & dryer. This jack is solid and sturdy. It doesn't creep down under load. And though I wouldn't say it is "inexpensive" necessarily, it is certainly worth the investment. I am very pleased with the product.

These jacks are sold under several vendors under the same model number. The jacks are sold separately from the turning bar so you would need to order least one turning bar. I use them for supporting cars while working under and so far no problem. These are not short enough to fit under any of my cars so you would need another jack to lift the car before you can slide these under - so you would need to use them like jack stands. But after these are under, you can turn the screw to raise the height.
