j/fit balance disc is available in four vibrant colors to match any decor or mood. The 13" diameter disc is an unstable, air filled cushion, strong enough to stand or sit on. Each disc comes with an inflation needle and pump, full color exercise chart and inflation guide.
Flat on One side- Bumps on the Other
This two sided disc has semi raised dots on one side and larger raised bumps on the other side. The smooth side allows for comfort while sitting or exercising and the bumps on the opposite side will hold the disc in place. Using the bump side up allows for plenty of sensory input and massaging effects while sitting, standing or exercising.
Your j/fit balance disc comes already inflated, but often times more air is desired. A small needle pump is included with every disc. It is important while adding additional air to your disc that you do not puncture any of the sides of the disc. To inflate disc squeeze together the sides around the valve to form a pocket. Insert the pump straight into the disc (not at an angle) all the way into the disc so that the eye of the needle is free from the valve and allows air to flow. The end of the pump should almost be touching the disc. Add a few pumps and pull the pump straight out from the disc. You can inflate and deflate as often as needed. To deflate you simply place the needle all the way into the valve and you will hear air escaping.
Create instability in a seated position to help build core strength and keep your back muscles working and postural reflexes stimulated. Make active sitting a chore for your back muscles by sitting on the disc at varying times during the day. A half hour at a time will help stimulate the muscles that become stagnant while slouching and sitting or standing all day.
Great For Pets
The disc can be used for weight bearing activities and balance training for smaller family pets, animal rehabilitation, and working dogs. Create a training course by using multiple discs. Helps to keep your pets healthy and strong, adding to a longer mobile life.
Simply standing on the disc will engage and stimulate the muscles that often times become dormant while sitting, standing, or walking. The instability of the cushion will force your muscles to engage while you try to keep your balance.
The balance disc comes with a full workout chart to encourage you to use your disc while performing push-ups, sit-ups, planks and other everyday exercises. By adding the disc you increase the intensity of the exercise gaining more bang for your time.
Balance and Rehabilitation
As we age we tend to loose our balance unless we practice or continually do exercises that require us to balance, like going up and down stairs, jumping rocks in a stream, or walking on uneven paths or roads. Since most areas we walk, run, or sit is perfectly smooth, the art of navigating our walks does nothing to stimulate our balance. We must use a tool and practice this art of balancing everyday. Used often for ankle rehab, proprioception, and strengthening of the lower extremities.
Sitting at a desk for a long period of time can cause the wiggles and jiggles and loss of concentration. The fit disc, with bumps for lots of sensory input, can literally give your child some wiggle room — he can get the feeling of movement without having to get up and down. Some children do better work if they're allowed to move while doing their lessons; not having to focus on keeping still frees up energy for learning.
