Bought this for my grandson who is making his First Holy Communion in April. What do you get a young boy? Girls are so much easier ---- jewelry, music boxes, snow balls (the kind that are glass that you shake and it has a scene inside), picture frames .... It's so much harder for a young boy. My daughter suggested that I get him a tie because, surprisingly for his age (8), he likes to wear neckties. I didn't want to get that because I had no idea what to get that would be meaningful --- but, that gave my husband this idea. What about a religious tie bar that he can wear on the day of his First Holy Communion. Yes! That was the perfect suggestion but, where to find one. Well, I do come to Amazon.com first for the most part, if I am looking for something that I think they might have available to sell. When I found this, I was thrilled. I was MORE thrilled when I received it and gave it to my daughter recently, to keep aside to have her son wear on that special day, from us, since we won't be there unfortunatly ... they live in Canada and I don't. I had it sent here and I was very, very happy with it when I saw it. It was not tacky looking, which I was afraid could be the case. It is very nicely done, nice gold tones and just enough attention paid to the sunburst and cross in a raised section of the tie bar to make the point. I did not want that to be an overly outstanding feature on this tie bar and it was not. It was just as I had hoped it would be. Terrific! And, I'm glad I ordered it way before Christmas for the April date that it is needed for, because I saw that Amazon and "the seller", if ordered directly, were out of this item at that time. I have no negative comments. It really is worth the price (I paid $36+) for it. BTW, thru Amazon, I got free super saver shipping. If bought directly through the seller, I'd have had to pay shipping so, Amazon was/is the way to go.
