5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted. November 6, 2011
Verified Purchase
Look, this thing is seven and a half bucks. One must review it in that context.

The tab closure holds pretty well, the case is padded enough and hard-edged enough to protect the Kindle if I drop it, you can fold the cover all the way to the back without any effort to hold it there, it's got an inside pocket for sticking papers in, and it doesn't get in the way of the buttons. Did I mention it's inexpensive? Yes, the leather feels cheap (I questions if it's really leather). So what? I'd feel kind of stupid spending $40 to protect an $80 gizmo just because I crave the feel of fine leather. Or because I want people to think I'm really cool because I have such a beautiful leather cover. Please.

The only thing that could be considered bad with this cover is that the Kindle can slip out fairly easily with a light shake. However, I like it that way. I prefer to use the Kindle without a case so I love being able to remove it easily. If you can't deal with the possibility of the Kindle slipping out, just stick a piece of thin cardboard between the Kindle and the case. Problem solved.

Bottom line: Forgo getting an expensive cover. Buy this one and spend the money you save on books.

***************
Update: After having used this cover for quite a while, I can say I now like to use the Kindle with the cover on, rather than slipping it out to use it. However, the leather (or whatever it is) has loosened up and I've had to stick more paper or cardboard behind the Kindle to keep it from slipping out. While that works, the stretched leather can get in the way of the page turning buttons on one side. Not so much that it irritates me, though. I'm still happy with it. Pretty good for $7.50.

2.0 out of 5 stars Kindle falls out too easily November 6, 2011
Verified Purchase
I received this case along with my kindle only one day after ordering it! It is comfortable to hold like a book and with the cover folded back. There is a slight angle if you try to attach the magnet backwards to hold the front cover folded back. I mostly hold it like a book though. It is very comfortable for page turning. The only complaint I have is that it is a bit difficult to access the down key, so I need to pop the kindle out of the cover a bit to access it. This doesn't bother me a lot though, since I only use it for accessing the menu. I mostly use the page turning keys.

EDIT: Only a day after I wrote this review, my kindle completely fell out of the case onto the floor when I picked it up from the counter. I have now found this happens very easily because it opens from the top, so it just slips out unless you ensure you pick it up properly. It has fallen out in my bag, too. It stays put for the most part, but I regret getting this one now and wish I had gotten a case that holds the kindle on all four corners. This case will do for now, but I will probably replace it soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cover October 29, 2011
Verified Purchase
The JKase is a great fit for the Kindle. All the spaces for the keys are spaced just right for easy access to the buttons. Leather should be pretty durable, especially for a 9-year-old using it. You can't beat the price at about $9.00 compared to the average price for a cover at $30.00. I absolutely recommend a cover for protection, and at this price, you can't beat it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's not idiot proof November 2, 2011

The fit is snug; however, it fails the tilt test. So long as you hold it upright, you'll be OK. The device to just slips and falls when held upside-down. So, don't do that.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware false advertising November 17, 2011

The headline on the product listing on Amazon.com calls this a "leather" Kindle cover, but it's not. It is some kind of plastic and the one we got is going back. Buyer beware!

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap plastic and it smells February 16, 2012

I don't understand all the positive reviews. The one I recieved was made of very cheap plastic and had a strong odor. It was dollar store or street vendor knockoff quality at best. It looks great in the sample photos, but this is not even leather it's clearly thin cheap plastic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor design November 9, 2011

The folio is poorly designed for the new Kindle. The Kindle is inserted from the top and does not hold securely in the folio. Because it's very loose, it easily slips out of the folio.

5.0 out of 5 stars JKase for Kindle 4 November 7, 2011
Verified Purchase
This is a very nice case. Very low price for this case but quality is good. Kindle fits nicely in case. The only issue I have is that the Kindle can fall out of the top of the case. But, a small piece of velcro will hold it in place. Well worth the $10 price.
