The JKase Executive case for Kindle Paperwhite (both wifi and wifi+3G versions) is a very protective case at a price that you won't shock you. If you've looked around at other cases, you probably have discovered that a leather case can easily cost upwards of $40. Leather does have some advantages... it is extremely durable, attractive and more expensive than faux-leather alternatives.

The JKase offers pretty much all the features you'd need for a case to protect your Kindle Paperwhite. It is not very heavy so is not much of an inconvenience once you've put your Paperwhite inside. The elastic band keeps the cover closed when you are not reading and prevents the cover from opening accidentally if you drop it.

The inside front and back covers are lined with a suede material that is nice to the touch and will prevent your Kindle screen and case from scratches. The covers are also padded and somewhat stiff. This gives added peace of mind and protection to your Kindle if you were to drop it,

The way the Kindle is secured inside the case is pretty cool. Unlike many other cases that use elastic bands at each corner, this case has a sleeve type of enclosure with an innovative top flap that gets flipped back inside the cover once your Kindle has been inserted into the case. It doesn't require a snap or velcro.

The front cover hinges very easily and folds underneath the back cover easily. Once it's flipped open, there is an elasticized band that you can slip your hand into to help hold the case/Kindle with just one hand. You don't have to use it though and if you choose not to, it stays snug against the cover keeping out of the way.

This is great inexpensive protection for your Paperwhite. The looks of the case belie its low price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely Made and Functional Kindle Case October 19, 2012
I am a big fan of Kindle covers and cases for one simple reason: the Kindle "screen" is very fragile, and I have already broken two Kindles because of this. So over the years I've become very cautious about leaving my Kindle "exposed," especially if I am taking it with me in a bag or in any other manner. So the first thing I look for when I buy a new Kindle is a protective sleeve.

I am not a big fan of reading cases in which you permanently keep your Kindle. One of my favorite things about Kindle is its light wright and very compact size. Those features make for almost effortless holding experience. However, this particular JKase makes it very easy to insert your Kindle and take it out, so I'll probably use it as both a case on an occasion, as well as a protective sleeve while going about with my Kindle.

The case is a bit thicker than I would have liked, but it's otherwise very handsome. When closed it resembles a Moleskin notebook, especially with the fastening strip on the side. The black faux leather looks nice enough and is pleasant to a touch. The interior is covered with suede. I am not the biggest fan of this material, but this particular kind does not irritate me at all.

As already mentioned, it's very easy to insert Kindle inside and take it out. The clasp that keeps Kindle from falling out does not fasten to anything, but uses clever design to secure the Kindle. The case leaves the power button and the USB port exposed and accessible.

Reading your Kindle while inside the JKase is for the most part easy and comfortable. Having the case does add to the thickness, perhaps even doubling it, but this is not all bad. I find it that having a thicker case can make Kindle more comfortable to hold.

4.0 out of 5 stars I recommend this cover for the kindle paperwhite... October 9, 2012
Verified Purchase
I returned the beautiful Kindle Paperwhite PURPLE cover because it was too heavy and did not stay in place when cover was folded back. I really wanted to read with one hand and I did NOT want the four little straps holding in my kindle because I find that distracting and ugly. This case suited my needs perfectly, you can fold it back and secure with the strap then slip your hand in the comfy sueded sleeve and swipe with your thumb to change pages BLISS!!! Is it beautiful NO but it is handsome, is it custom fit NO it could be tighter, but it is acceptable. Is my Kindle secure when it goes everywhere I go YES, the padding is enough and the strap is secure. I was not price driven but the was a huge bonus and it got to me early and fast. Now if JKase would just make it in PURPLE .......

This Paperwhite case came to me at no cost from the manufacturer for review. I admit that, looking at the price, I wasn't really expecting much. It's pretty cheap. So you know where I'm coming from, I also use the Amazon cover for my Paperwhite and am pretty happy with it. I've played with the JKase for a while and I really do think it's a great alternative for those that want not only a cheaper alternative, but a different type of reading experience.

The good:

For those that are distracted by the "Kindle" word on the Paperwhite, this covers it. You slide the kindle in from the top and there's a flap that tucks behind it to keep it secure. Makes it really easy, actually and more secure than I thought it would be. I actually slung around the kindle (over my bed, don't worry!) trying to get it to fall out, but couldn't.

There's an elastic strap to keep it closed (or open when you're reading so there's no flapping around going on). That's my biggest complaint about the one I'm using now - the cover flaps open if I'm not holding it folded back.

There's a nice little "pocket without a bottom", for lack of a better word, that you can actually slide your hand through while you're reading. This is actually kind of cool because you can read one-handed and use your thumb of the same hand to change the page. I have pretty medium sized-hands, but I think if you had smaller hands it might be more of an issue.

There's also a little wallet that you can tuck business cards or your driver's license or whatever into, nothing big, but something.

The bad:

I'm not in love with the exterior. It's fake leather and it does feel it. It's a little more slick than I'd prefer.

The interior is a soft suede.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just Won't Work!!
Does not fit correctly. It must not be made for the Kindle I have because it covers the buttons needed to operate. I don't know what I will do, return or keep it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't stand up very well.
The velcro doesn't hold too well. Any slight movement of a table or the tablet, and the screen falls.
