We installed 2 of these in a customers car as per JL's ported box recommendations. We wired straight parallel for a 1 ohm load using an RF Punch 1,000 with each speaker getting 500 watts rms. Woofers sounded great, but when pushed hard we noticed alot of distortion from this amp with our test equipment. We then paired the speakers to a Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700 that we had on hand. We wired at 1 ohm again with each speaker now getting 850 Watts RMS (Above JL's recommendation and can void warranty!). We put the speakers through a vigorous workout. The speakers love the extra wattage in our 4 hour pound session. The Hifonics even at half the price of the Punch 1000, proved to be King with this woofer combination. This woofer will not dissapoint if your looking for solid, clean and loud bass. Keep in mind your mileage may change depending on the amplifier you choose. We love RF amps here, but it was not the perfect match in this situation.

Great speaker for some deep sounding bass. Best price I found at the time as well so good value for the quality of product.

My set up:

Rockford Fosgate 4AWG wiring kit
JL 500/1 amp
RBC-1, installed in my center console
Sealed box, per recommended JL specs
Dynamat in the trunk

I could type for pages, but short and sweet: This sub pounds. Hard. The 500/1 is the perfect amp to mate to this sub. I have not met one person that wasn't impressed with the bass output of this sub, it frequently gets confused for 1 or 2 12's. When I pop the trunk, they just don't believe the amount of bass and volume that can come from one 10" sub. You get what you pay for, folks. This sub rocks. However, keep in mind, that the amp selection is just as important. The 500/1 is the PERFECT match to this sub.

However, if you don't happen to have a dental plan and want to replace your own fillings, you could probably add another sub to your trunk, and the two W6's would be more than happy to rattle your old fillings out for you. I seriously don't understand people that would want 2 W6 10's or God forbid, two 12's. You would need loctite on every bolt on your car, because it IS going to rattle apart!

If you are looking for a woofer that does more than just "loud", for a reasonable price, the W6 line is it. I've had countless audio setups in the past, and I can tell you this woofer stands out from the rest. Is it the cheapest 10" driver you can get? No, but you don't get cheap sound with it either. This thing can really dig for the low notes, and sing the higher ones. Coupled with the right amp (jl 500/1), and the right amount of airspace(around .75 cubes), it is a solid performer. I've had friends that swear there are more than one of these hidden in the car, they can't believe one 10" driver can sound that good.

I've been throwing everything at this sub for about three years now, it has yet to miss a beat. Pun intended. It sees daily duty, and is always happy for more.

if you are looking for something to just rattle your door handles off, this isn't it (although it can do that too). You can get that for less. This is a driver for people who appreciate music.

mine is blown after just 6 weeks I believe it to be a fake after looking at the logo on the speaker its not the patented logo from jl audio Im contesting charges and getting my money back its a FAKE I google mapd the location it comes back to B.N.B INT'L TEXTILES INC

Awesome transaction with seller. The w6 sounds and looks great! I knew when I took it out of the box that I had a great quality product with the way it was packaged along with the way it's been built. For a little sub, it packs a punch.

This sub hits nicely! I was amazed at how a 10inch sub could hit so hard. I am running a 500 Watt memphis reference amp to it and barely have the gain controls up and I can basically rock the whole neighborhood.
For the money and simple setup this is probably the best 10 inch I have heard. Trust me I have messed with subs back in the days and this just kills solo L7, fosgates, alpines, and others. I would highly recommend this subwoofer. As car audio called it "it's the bmw 3 series" of subs for simple setups. If you want the real deal step up to the W7 series. Nuff said!

i have a sonoma 1998 gmc i put 10w6 and that thing subs nice very nice makes your passenger get out

i had a RF 1000w punch amp hooked up to two of these, and it blew them within a week.
