The discreet unit comes with a built-in bracket and screw for mounting underneath a cabinet, table, desk, counter, or other out-of-the-way location. The space-saving design makes this unit a valuable choice for kitchens with little room on the countertop, or for dorm rooms that are already ridiculously overstuffed. Even better, the slim chassis still offers most of the essential clock radio functions, along with a few extras.

The device is built around an AM/FM tuner and a front-loading CD player, both of which can coordinate with the alarm. The CD player isn't just a one-trick pony, however, as it's also compatible with CD-R and CD-RW formats and lets listeners program up to 20 tracks for a custom soundtrack. For occasions when pre-recorded CDs just don't cut it, listeners can turn to the AM/FM radio, which plays their favorite commercial and public radio programs, along with talk radio and sports broadcasts. The alarm, meanwhile, offers such functions as a sleep timer, a snooze button, and dual alarms for households with more than one sleeper.

Other features include an LED display, an FM stereo indicator, and a memory backup function that preserves the clock and alarm settings during a power outage (requires 9-volt battery). Mine came with one speaker inside the unit that was not secured so I returned it as defective. I did not test the cd player or mounting, but the controls were poor. I was led to believe by another description on Amazon that there were radio presets (meaning a digital tuner). It is an analogue (knob) tuner and it was very hard to select the right station and the tuner brought in only strong stations. The tuning and volume knobs are hard to turn since they don't extend far enough to actually grab them.

Please don't consider this a full review since I did not fully test the unit. But after 5 minutes it was clear I wanted a different player.

After a couple of months, the CD player does not work any more. The radio still works but I am very disappointed with my purchase. Not to mention the holes I had to drill in the bottom of my cabinet for nothing.

Just a warning, after 1 week of very light use -- the CD player is unable to play any CDs. The radio still works, but the CD player is not working. Not impressed with the quality.
