I used this for a construction project on which I was superintendent. It isn't a long range instrument, but over shorter distances, it is bulletproof, easy to use, easy to set up. I had no trouble teaching laborers how to use it quickly and effectively. The vertical plane feature is excellent - allowed very accurate spotting of weld locations for pipe tie-ins in overhead racks. There are better instruments out there, but they cost a lot more and while this one feels "plasticy" it is really surprisingly durable and gets the job done even after being thrown around in the equipment trailer.
