5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than Sliced Bread!
We were given Ove Gloves for Christmas last year, and absolutely love them! They're so much better than traditional potholders and oven mitts. The only thing to watch out for is that they're not waterproof, so don't dip your thumb in the soup.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything it claims to be...and more!, June 4, 2005
I picked up an Ove Glove about a year ago. My husband had been dying to try it, and we didn't know anyone who had one. We both are thrilled with it! You really can slip it on and take a pan right from the oven. It might be helpful to have two, though, for handling heavier things (like a pan of lasagna). I always wind up with the Ove Glove on one hand and a bulky, awkward oven mitt on the other hand.

And here's the bonus: We took ours camping with us last fall and used the Ove Glove to rearrange the campfire logs as needed! That made the glove dirty...but it's machine washable. (It's clean now but doesn't look it.)

Some of our friends and family members have bought the Ove Glove, too, after they tried ours! I'm buying two new ones for the kitchen so that we can reserve the one we have just for camping.

The Ove Glove is pricier than most oven mitts, but it does so much more that it's WELL worth the price difference!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Hotpad, August 27, 2005
I'm only sorry that I didn't purchase two...and that's exactly what I'm about to do.
It feels, fits and performs perfectly. They are much nicer and safer to use than a towel or any potholder. Hot steam can permeate the woven fabric, but there are no other negatives.
The one-size-fits-all glove fits my large hand and my wife's petite hand. It even cleans up in the wash machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Oven Gloves, August 4, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If your tired of clumsy oven mittens or pot holders that have no feel to them and wear out, then you'll appreciate these heat-resistant gloves. Aside from their fireproof qualities, the best thing about them is that they are 5-fingered, fit either hand, and stretch to conform a man's hand size. You'll never lose your grip on a dish or tray, or have the end of a typical mitt/pot holder dip into your food and pick up stains. If this glove does accidentally pick up stains it can be washed. The only caution I have is that due to the open mesh weave, steam can penetrate the glove, which can be felt by the user but has not resulted in any burns. I would recommend ordering 2 gloves (I did) for use on large roasting pans or other heavy cookware. In summary, this is the best heat resistant protection I have ever used--it should last a lifetime.

5.0 out of 5 stars No home should be without these gloves!!!!, May 7, 2007
I got the original glove that came out about 5yrs ago and it is a the best $20.00 ever spent on a glove. (it comes only 1 in a box)I have used these so much in all kinds of situations where heat is involved. They really work. My first pair is still in good shape but got these new ones and the striping on them makes them even better it gives you a great grip. Only one negative they come in 1 size. I do wear a small but still have no problems using them. Everyone should own these just for extra safety in the home.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best pot holder, May 20, 2008
By

Yes, it protects your hands from even the most intense heat, and it can be popped in your washing machine if it gets dirty -- but this is a great pot holder because it also allows you to really grip casserole and baking dishes, unlike old-fashioned mitts and the silicone square pot holders I had been using (the latter are now permanent trivets.)

These are really durable (if you don't put in the dryer) and they somehow conform to a variety of hand sizes.

I'd previously said the glove had no loop for hanging, but that's not correct -- it's tucked in there, next to the tag label. So, no downside to these essential tools. Buy two and invest in a lifetime of safe oven use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what the claims says it does., January 9, 2007

Great in the kitchen with taking things out of the oven, and handling hot pots and pans. But, the real test: lost electricity for four days, and had to use the wood burning stove for heating the house. Used the Ove glove to safely open and close the iron doors, and actually grab onto burning logs and turn them with my Ove glove covered hand inside the 500+ degree firebox. Got quite sooty, but it cleaned up well in the washing machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, July 9, 2007
I prefer using the Ove-Glove over any hot pad or silicone grabber I've tried. Why? Because, being a glove, it allows me get a good natural grip on hot casseroles and pans, the silicone strips give just enough "cling" to glass baking dishes to make them slip proof and my entire hand is protected. I can't tell you how many times I've reached into a hot oven with regular hot pads only to burn the top of my hand or wrist as I bumped my hand on the oven rack or door. Ouch! Not with these babies. If you think they're expensive, just think what you'll save on Neosporin and band-aids!

I highly recommend buying the pair set of gloves over the single glove--even if you only use one at a time, if you get the glove wet while cooking it loses it's heat resistance until it dries out--you'll want a backup glove.

Forget the high-tech nonsense, what a joke! These are no better than a cheap pair of pot holders or oven mitts. Sure, they cover your wrists, big deal. I took a tray of cookies I had baked with my daughter out of the oven, held it in one hand for about 7 seconds (literally) while I cleared some counter space, and I felt the tray start to get uncomfortably hot through the glove by the time I put it down. Mind you, I am talking about cookies at 350 degrees here. No way these things could hold anything really hot or anything for a long carry time without burning me. I am dumping them for garage use and getting something else. What a disappointment.
