5.0 out of 5 stars great price, great stand, February 25, 2008

I had never used a stand without a neck support, and I really thought I might regret trying this one out. But it was the best price of any stand, and looks better/takes less visual room because it doesn't have the neck support and since I wanted to put it in a tight corner, I decided to try it. It does a great job and looks good too--you don't even see the stand at all. It is very steady and even my toddler has not managed to knock it over despite playing with the cello in the stand frequently. I would definitely recommend this stand to anyone on a budget, who has tight space to put instruments in, or looking for a great "floating" effect with no visual clunkiness to show off their instrument. It is a safe and steady stand that I feel confident in to protect a nice instrument. I will probably look for and purchase more stands like this in the future, even if price isn't a factor anymore.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just a Guitar Stand, January 27, 2009

Seems reasonably stable. Of course, if you bump the cello too hard you could knock it off, or if there was an earthquake, but it won't fall over on its own. The strength of the stand is that it's pretty inconspicuous, so when you walk into the room you see all cello instead of a cello on a stand. Reasonably priced and reasonably sturdy, but I'll point out that you can find these on sale at any Guitar Center. I have guitar stands and they have the exact same dimensions as this "cello stand." In fact, if you ask me this really is nothing more than a guitar stand.

4.0 out of 5 stars cello stand, October 25, 2009

We bought this stand because my son's cello teacher said it would be easier for him to practice if he had a convenient was to leave his cello out all of the time (not in its case). Having the cello out on a stand does make starting to practice less of an ordeal, and this stand doesn't take up much space, so it fits easily in his bedroom between his bookcase and dresser. It's lightweight, yet strong and sturdy. My one complaint is that while it holds the cello nicely, it has no place for the bow.

I love this stand, as it is sturdy and has a sleek design... looks much better than a cello stand with a neck rest, and is actually a more solid design... does not fall over, even when bumped very, very hard. I highly recommend this stand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Compact and steady, January 13, 2008
This review is from: Boston Cello Stand
There is no substitute for these--gotta have your cello stand! This one is steady and a fairly low-cost option, and compact enough that it is not in the way when the cello is elsewhere. Very reliable service.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Stand - Great Value!, January 6, 2012

This review is from: Boston Cello Stand
I bought this stand for my high school daughter who is an accomplished cellist. I was tired of seeing the cello on it's side, and even more tired of trying not to kick the instrument as I passed it by. I have a small piano studio in my house where I teach and my daughter practices in the studio. The stand is a perfect fit for us: It doesn't take up much room and the cello and stand easily fit into a small corner of the studio. My only very small complaint is that there is no place for a bow or rosin - so these items are either stored in her cello case or on the music stand. Although the stand is small, it is quite sturdy and I am very pleased with this purchase.

This stand is very simple, effective and unobstructive. Very easy to use and portable! The instrument will take the attention and not the stand. It is sturdy enough for young children usage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy stand, May 2, 2011

I purchased this stand for my daughter to eliminate the hassle of taking the cello in and out of the case every day. First it held her 1/2 size cello and now her 3/4 cello. The stand can securely hold any size cello. Her instrument looks beautiful on this stand in the corner of our formal dining room, and her bow just rests on the music stand. After 9 mos. of use, I'm ordering another for my own full-sized cello. I plan on folding both stands up and taking them along with us to the next recital so that we can have our instruments standing and ready at the side of the room for our turn to play, instead of resting on their sides on the floor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value, March 10, 2011

This review is from: Boston Cello Stand
We purchased the Boston Cello stand for our daughter's small cello and it works perfectly. It's very stable even though it has no support at the top of the cello and its low profile looks great in the living room. It would be nice if there were some way to hang the bow from the stand, but we just hang it from one of the cello tuning knobs. It folds flat so it's easy to store when you're not using it or need to transport. It has definitely made our daughter more willing to practice because she doesn't have to mess with the cello bag every day. This is a great price and a super value - it's made our music practices so much easier! Highly recommend it!

I wanted a cello stand that could easily be moved and could store my cello safely. I find when the cello is out of the case I am more likely to practice!
