I have been playing for quite a while now, and am proud to say that these are the select strings to use. Be for I used to buy this pack of strings, for 80+ dollars, and now only forty two! I would highly recommend buying these strings. They add such a beautiful tone to any violin

This is the best set of string for the money. Dominants with a different E are the standard to which others are compared. If you are a student, look no further and buy these. Many of the greatest violinists ever use these strings. For the money they cannot be beat. You may find other, more expensive strings to be better for your specific violin once you are advanced and experiment, but the Dominants with a different E are the benchmark for the money.

For my instrument, I'm actually in love with the Pirastro E string but the Dominants G, D, and A don't really project enough. They sound very nice, but I'd prefer a more deep sort of sound. Next time I'll likely go with the Pirastros all the way; very full and clear.

Hey, Itzhak Perlman uses this combination of strings, you know they are good. These produce a lovely sound on pretty much any violin. And such a low price for such wonderful quality!! Wow.

These strings are wonderful! As a poor college student I have a hard time finding good strings that I can afford. For my needs these are great. On my violin they have a great ring on the A and D strings. I live in DC and there's only one music store in the area (so they of course hike up their prices,) and these sold for $90 there. So I came right home and ordered them off Amazon. Anyway I'm very happy, I will definetly buy these again in a few months.

This is the set of strings I used on all my violins. I recommend this set to my students. They are sweet sounding, not too loud or bright, and the width is nice, not too wide under the fingertip, and they do not break easily.

In my experience students break strings when they turn a peg too much to tighten it. (especially the E string)

My students who own their own violins are very pleased with the sound quality after they switch to this set. There is often vast improvement!

I bought these on the recommendation of my violin teacher, and they are marvelous! The sound that they create is clean and rich, and the bow seems to have a lot less resistance when I am playing. Slurring and switching back and forth between strings in mid-bow is much easier than it ever has been. I would highly recommend these for the intermediate player (I have a few years of training under my belt, but am no virtuoso); as they instantly, noticeably improved the sound quality of my instrument. This is the first time I've been able to get the strings packaged the way I like them! Usually I have to pay for another E string and not use the Dominant E. Service was prompt, and shipping was free - can't beat that!

I have been purchasing this set of strings for my son for over a year and a half. He loves them! The Dominant E sting always has a ring to it. Using the Pirastro E sting with the Dominant's solves the problem and has a fantastic sound. It is the only string set that our local violin shop puts on their violins - and they have some very high end violins! But purchasing them on Amazon is much less expensive. Important since my son goes through a set of stings every 4 weeks. And JSI is the only company I have found that offers this Dominant/Pirastro combination. Before I found them I would have to buy a full set of Dominant and then buy the Pirastro E sting. The Dominant E, was just tossed. Thanks for making this so easy!
