Shots on the neck more or less bounce off now, but you will still get busted shots every so often. I haven't had anymore welts since I started using it. Also if you use radios with throat mics, this will hold them in place very effectively.

This thing is comfortable to wear, AND most importantly, it saved my neck the first time I wore it.

As the others have said...very comfortable to wear and thick enough to take the sting out of being hit in the neck. Glad I made the purchase! Shipping was slow, it took 3 days for overnight Prime shipping. I didnt take that into account on this review.

Let's not mince words - getting shot in the neck hurts. A lot. It will still hurt with this on, but it will hurt a lot less and you'll avoid those neck welts that make people wonder what you do when you get out of work (trust me on that one). It's comfortable enough that you'll forget you're wearing it. If you don't have a high-collar jersey, this is a must.

I don't know why other ballers don't think this is necessary to have but for me it is. It's not about the pain because getting hit in the crotch area would most likely hurt more and we don't wear cups, do we? It's about how you will look the next day in school or work when you have an alien hickey on your neck... or what your significant other might think.

This neck protector is very nice for its price. It's comfortable and not thin and flimsy or stiff like the other ones. It's breathable and doesn't cause you to sweat (although you will sweat no matter what if the weather is warm and you're running around). I highly recommend this. Besides, JT knows what they're doing.

This item is not very wide (otherwise it would ride up on the chin). Therefore, it will allow for a sunburn on the back of the neck if not addressed. The item is made of neoprene (wetsuit rubber) lined with fabric. The breathe-ability is limited for the sake of protection. I have worn one of these for several years and have been hit a few times in the sides of the neck with excellent results. I do not recommend that you rely on this for primary larynx protection so you can wear a lower profile mask. Stick with a mask that sits a little below chin level and be confident in this as secondary frontal protection only.

This is good neck protector for paintball. helps take the neck shots. For me, I no longer get a welt and it doesn't hurt as bad when I get hit there. Well worth the cost.

Protection is one of the most important parts while playing sports. This neck protector will provide you with an extra cover for the neck where a hit of a paintball can hurt a lot, plus it is comfortable, its breathable, so the material has small holes to help you perspire without trouble, and does not restrict movement, which is very important.

Right after I purchased this I was shot in the throat by a paintball and I didn't feel a thing. Could use a little more material towards the back of the neck but it still does the job.

It does exactly what it was designed to do. It protects your neck. Once on, I forgot it was on my neck. The only time I remembered it was on is when I got hit on the neck with a paintball. It did not sting at all. I didn't end up with a hickie.
