Actprinter
Get ready to virtually print
No More Printing

Have you ever wondered why you always end up printing those so-called electronic tickets, boarding passes, and similar documents? Ever wasted a sheet of paper to remember a will-call pickup number? Say goodbye to those days! ACTPrinter allows you to virtually "print" any document from your Mac or PC to your Android device.

Paperless Printing

Want to read documents on the go? ACTPrinter is for you. "Print" documents, e-mails, webpages, and more from any program on your computer directly to your Android device. Your computer will automatically detect your Android device when connected to your AirPort or Wi-Fi network - there's no need to type in an IP address.

Sort Your Jobs

Sort your printouts by order, date, or title. Organize your printouts into groups. Select the '+' button to add groups. Change the name of any printout. Refer to useful help and troubleshooting guides included within the app.

Kudos

PCWorld ranked ACTPrinter as the #1 "Green App", noting "Many of us--businesses included--whip through an inordinate amount of paper and toner printing things like boarding passes, directions and documents simply so that we can have them easily accessible while on the go. With Houdah Software's ACTPrinter, however, you can say goodbye to all that." –– PCWorld, ranking ACTPrinter as the #1 "Green App"

"I love ACTPrinter and at under a buck it's a steal. Use it one time and you're already ahead of the game from the cost you'll save on paper and ink alone. Not to mention the benefits to the environment." –– AppCraver.com

Computer Requirements

In order to use this app, you must install the free ACTPrinter companion software available at Houdah Software's website. For PCs, you must have a computer with a Wi-Fi card that is running Microsoft Windows XP, Vista (x32 and x64), or Windows 7 (x32 and 64). For Macs, you must have a computer with an Airport card that is running Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or later. Please note that ACTPrinter is not designed to print hard copies, but "print" virtual copies to your Android device.

1.0 out of 5 stars What is the point? April 9, 2012
This isn't a "virtual printer", this is essentially a file sharing app. Why should someone bother with this when they could use Box, Dropbox, etc. and be able to send ANY type of file, without having to convert them, to your phone or tablet. All my Box account needs is net access too; it doesn't need my devices to be on the same wifi network like this. That's not even mentioning it's free and works in both directions. This type of app was useful about 6 or 7 years ago...it's obsolete now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Evernote is a much better choice. April 9, 2012
Also free, Evernote does this and much much more, with no complicated learning curve. Amazon: thanks for throwing the adults a once a month real world app. How about more of these and less "baby sitter" games?

1.0 out of 5 stars We don't need this app! April 9, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
I have a Kindle Fire and not a printer. I get emails and I can read them and if they have attachments I can open a PDF, Word, Excel, Power Point and other style of documents. So why do I need this app to take up space and have to load programs on my PC to make it work?

I can save the documents from emails and using Quickoffice I can even have the document read to me aloud by my Kindle Fire! I can edit it and forward it or save it for future use. Quickoffice is only 6.04 MB and does all this while this program is 5.51 MB and I still have to install another program onto my PC? I simply do not understand or see the value in this app.

Installation lists a web site to go to download a file to my PC. The website is printed in light blue on a medium gray background and I can't even read the web site name on my Kindle Fire. I don't have the space to waste on my Kindle Fire and I don't need to add a program to my PC to get this one to show up as a printer.

Sorry, I already put it in the cloud!

2.0 out of 5 stars two stars 4 now April 9, 2012

I knew I was in trouble when it took me 15+ minutes just to install all the crap on my laptop! After all of that, can't use it. Actually it's probably a router issue, so won't hold that against them! Someone mentioned Evernote, might give that a shot!

Btw, isn't it kind of strange having to install Apple software?

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of system memory an resources. April 9, 2012
By Bark
This is an overly complicated solution that is better addressed by other methods. Evernote, Dropbox, and a load of other more intuitive solutions already allow you to complete the same tasks, and those alternatives provide more functionality beyond the limited scope of this app.
