5.0 out of 5 stars Large, Sturdy and Fun Inflatable Toy!
My 21 month old son loves this toy. It is inflatable and constructed of sturdy vinyl. There is no 'assembly' required. There are numerous inflation points, and if we didn't have a power inflator then this would have been a long and exhausting inflation process. The toy can be used indoors/outdoors and is usable as a pool toy as well. The 'control panel' area opens and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not durable
I got this for my 3-year-old son, who just started to develop interests in spaceships. The toy is a little expensive for what it is in my opinion. It does bring fun to my kid, but it is easy to be broken. The material is not durable and leaks easily, especially the parts behind the shuttle's head. It is frustrating. I definitely not recommend using it in the pool, even...

The 'control panel' area opens and closes, but there is no mechanism to secure it in the closed position. The previous reviews in this section must have been written about another item. There is NO CARDBOARD AT ALL on or in this toy.

4.0 out of 5 stars My Son Hasn't Stopped Playing With It, July 23, 2007

My son the astronaut absolutely loves this toy. When I gave it to him (along with the helmet) he played on it about 24 hours straight, except for sleeping. It reinforces his knowledge of the solar system as he gets to "visit" all the planets and the sun and the moon while on his shuttle.

Only issue is that he's already torn it within the first day, but it patched up OK.

All in all, a great buy.

My 3.5 year old son had talked of wanting rocketships of all kinds for Christmas. I chose a few different toys 'from Santa'. This inflatable rocket ship was the icing on the cake as he woke up on Christmas and saw this large Rocket positioned next to the Christmas Tree....he immediately jumped on it and was in Heaven. Over the course of several weeks he still sits and imagines being an astronaut the 'old fashioned' way...actually envisioning it in his mind! At times, he sits on the Rocketship and watches the DVD of the Space shuttle program as they go through the mechanics of being in Space...;-) All the while his little sister plants herself on the comfy wing and thinks it's her personal sofa. Come Summer, this inflatable will be used in our pool, no doubt, but with a life preserver on my son since this toy it is not a safety device. I think it was the best investment of less than 40 bucks ever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome toy!, January 31, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this from eBay and it arrived today(Aeromax won't deliver APO/FPO) and I have to say it's fantastic.I love it and my son loves it.

There is no cardboard in this product except for the controls area, it feels like there is some there but that is it.

It's a great toy and I would buy it again if something would happen to this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars great space shuttle, January 17, 2008

my 2 1/2 year old boy just loves this item. he runs around telling everyone that he has a space shuttle. this is a strong toy that i first thought would just not hold up to my household. my son plays on it all day. my dog (huskey) also plays with him on it. my son not only acts like he is flying off to space on it, he flips it over and jumps on it. this toy is great and durable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blast off to fun, April 5, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Roger CapCom, we are now in orbit. My two year old son got this thing for his birthday, and he plays with it every day. His older brothers and sister pull him around the room on it and he squeals in delight. He also pushes the "buttons" on the control panel as he is flying it.

The only minor problem was the blow up cell on one side of the fold out control panel had a whole in it, but never fear, Highlights sent a new one the next day, and didn't require us to send the old one back. So now we have a shuttle for grandma's, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, August 18, 2006
My 3 year old son and 18 month old daughter love this shuttle. They both fit in it and pretend to fly into space. The steering handles actually make noise--two different noises, one for take off and one laser sound. The description listed isn't really clear. Nothing opens or closes and it is made of cardboard. You do have to put it together. We bought it for my son's space birthday party. It made it through the party without any damage despite a dozen kids climbing in it and is still so much fun 8 months later. My kids have even stood on the back of it so it is sturdy for cardboard. It is a quality toy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for a small boy, November 25, 2007

= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
My two-year-old son enjoys climbing aboard this shuttle. It is durable vinyl, but we are seeing some wear and tear along the seams that hold the control panel to the ship-- those are starting to tear but sure we can repair with some electrical tape. I wouldn't recommend this for much older/heavier children as it tends to go a little limp after his older cousins come over and jump on it. Inflating is a bit cumbersome, as there are several inflation points. An electric pump is a must have for this, although we did have some trouble with our pump fitting the nozzles and ended up being a bit frustrated. We use this ship in the house, so I can't comment if it stands up to outdoor/pool use. Overall, I wouldn't pay a fortune for this but it has been enjoyed by our son and we are going to buy the similar inflatable race car as a gift.

This review is from: JUNIOR SPACE EXPLORER INFLATABLE SPACE SHUTTLE (Toy)
My two year old loves this toy. He likes to sit on it and pretend he is going to the moon. It got him very excited about space now we have to read about rocket ships every night.
