Amazon.com Product Review

The Jwin JV-AC79 Waterproof Color High Resolution Bullet Camera is a durable and reliable solution for most any remote monitoring needs. The easy-to-install Jwin JV-AC79 bullet camera provides high-resolution images and comes in a waterproof compact housing, making it perfect for discreet video surveillance and monitoring in extreme situations such as a parking lots, constructions sites, container ships or any other area exposed to severely inclement weather conditions.

This camera utilizes a 0.33-inch color DSP CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor, with a 3.6-millimeter fixed lens and a picture element that provides up to 320,000 effective pixels. This color camera delivers a decent resolution of 380 horizontal TVL (TV lines), and achieves a better than 50 dB S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio. Highly sensitive with a minimum illumination of 0.2 Lux, the JV-AC79 can receive a picture under very low-light conditions for nighttime viewing. Compatible with both the EIA (Electronics Industries Association) and the CCIR TV system, this unit includes a standard 75 ohm composite video output. The Jwin JV-AC79 camera runs on 12-volt DC power via an included AC/DC adapter, and has an operating temperature of 14 to 122-degrees Fahrenheit.

Technical Features:

  • Signal compatibility: EIA and CCIR TV system
  • Light sensitivity: minimum illumination of 0.2 Lux
  • Horizontal resolution: 380 TVL
  • S/N ratio: better than 50 dB
  • Operating temperature: 14 to 122-degrees Fahrenheit
  • Dimensions: 0.83 x 2.8 x 0.83 inches (W x D x H)
Designed primarily for outdoor use, the Jwin JV-AC79 camera deserves serious consideration as one of the toughest and most inconspicuous solutions for professional-level security surveillance as well as discreet in-home applications. The Jwin JV-AC79's extremely small size and high-resolution allow it to be used almost anywhere without notice. User's should note that the image sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
