Ideal for kitchens, offices, dormitories, and apartments, the affordable AV-20420's 20-inch, dark-tinted picture tube ensures a high-quality, high-contrast picture. The set's front-firing speakers provide stereo audio from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals.

There are two sets of rear audio/video inputs and a set of front AV inputs for extra convenience (great for hooking up a camcorder or gaming console). A rear stereo audio output hooks the set up with an amplifier or surround receiver and a headphone jack affords private listening.

The set's Hyper-Scan high-speed channel changer is one of the fastest in the industry, while Return+ lets you return to a channel via the 10-key pad, even after sequentially scanning other channels. The set also features V-Chip and Channel Guard parental controls, front-panel lock, a multi-function timer (with sleep timer), XDS auto clock set, black-level expansion, Apacon (which enhances picture sharpness to deliver a crisper, sharper picture), closed captioning with text, noise muting, TV speaker on/off, and a Super Command unified remote.

I ordered this JVC because I've always had excellent products from them. The colors are crisp and bright without even adjusting the picture right out of the box. The sound is clear and the speakers are powerful, I've never had the unit turned up past one-third. This TV has fit in easily as a bedroom TV, letting me vegitate on lazy weekends. My DVD player hooked up easily and I hope my luck with JVC continues.

I have a 27 inch version of this tv. Its been fine for 5 years, but now and again i keep getting a problem at the bottom of the screen. It is during I play video games, watch dvd's vhs's and tv. It looks like when you are watching a tape and the tracking messes up. I hope it is not a serious problem. I had bought another jvc tv and it had a similar problem, so i returned it and got a sony. I don't no if i trust jvc anymore.
