Optimized for commercial markets but perfectly well equipped to serve as an affordable centerpiece for your home theater, JVC's 32-inch AV-32D305 stereo TV is loaded with features and built for quality. The set features a spill-proof rear cabinet and built-in mounting bosses on its base to simplify wall or swivel positioning. The TV's black-level expansion ensures detailed, high-contrast images, while TheaterPro 6500K Color Temperature adjusts the set's temperature to the ideal color-temperature for viewing movies in a dark room. Its stereo speakers are powered by a stable 5 watts each.

The AV-32D305's 3-line digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). An apacon circuit further enhances low-level details for greater picture sharpness.

The AV-32D305 receives not only stereo broadcasts, but Second Audio Programming (or SAP), too, and you always have Hyper Surround to simulate surround sound from any two speakers. BBE High-Definition Sound improves speech intelligibility and restores the dynamic range of compressed musical passages.

High-end component-video inputs accept video from compatible DVD players and satellite systems, while S-video and standard RCA composite-video inputs accommodate most other video sources. The set offers 2 audio/video inputs, one of which is built into the front panel so you can hook up a VCR, camcorder, or gaming console. A rear-panel RF input accommodates older VCRs, cable boxes, and antennas.

A multifunction timer turns the TV on and off for you when you're not home or works as an alarm clock or program reminder; a sleep timer saves energy by turning off the set after you've nodded off. Other features include an interactive plug-in menu, an onscreen display, V-Chip parental controls, closed captioning with text display, XDS (Extended Data Service) auto clock set with ID display, and a full-function remote control.

We purchased this television set for home use, about two years ago for approx $400, from VanVreede's. We decided while looking at the "wall of tv's" in the store. This one had a much sharper image, and the colors were very rich, and true to real life. My husband and I both really like this set. There are different color settings also, which is GREAT for movies and video games. Works wonderfully w/ my digital camera to make VHS.

The only thing I would change... our previous television (a smaller 25" we moved to another room) had the "smart sound." Which controlled volume, keeping it at a constant. (you know those obnoxiously loud commercials!) With this television we find ourselves changing volume during commercials.

About the size... our entertainment center is built to hold a 32" television set. This TV barely fit in the opening. It actually is set in the opening at a slight angle, (really only noticeable when looking at the entertainment center from the side) Not enough to make us return it.

i love this tv, i've had it for about a month now and the sound is great, the picture is great, and overall, i love it.
