I bought these headphones for work. Some of my cubefarm neighbors do not realize that we're in a shared environment, and do not know not to holler 4 cubes over instead of using using the phone, instant messenger, or hiking. Enough...

These headphones perform awesome for the money. These are much more comfortable than wearing the in-the-ear types. The sound is crisp and clear, the bass thumps w/o muddle. I don't crank the volume, it's set at a pleasant, environment noise cancelling level.

The construction seems adequate, able to last in an office environment. The cord is adequate, about 5' to 6'. The earpieces fold flat, making it convenient to put into a desk drawer carry on bag, or backpack.

Overall, I'm very impressed with these headphones. I've bought several over the years only to be disappointed in sound or construction quality. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Picked these up after reading some (+) reviews to test against my fave budget phone (the KSC75). After 50 hours of burn-in, I must say that I am pleasantly suprised. These little wonders deliver some shockingly good sound for the price. All frequencies are tight and controlled. Bass is present, but it's not flabby and it doesnt creep in on the low-mids. Not a bass-head's phones, but so far I am enjoying them tremendously.

Combined with the fact that they cost almost nothing, fold flat, and feel pretty sturdy (thick aluminium headband covered in rubber, thick plastics, solid joints) makes these excellent everyday beater headphones. They don't sound as open and relaxed as the KSC75's but they are more usable everyday due to the more conventional (and durable) design. Definitely recommended for those looking for budget, low-priced portable headphones that can deliver some suprising sound.

For $15 or less retail, these are shockingly competent sealed headphones that are both dynamic and comfortable to wear for hours at a time. The bass response seems very good without being overpowering while the mid and high frequencies are better than one has a right to expect in this price range.

Their low price, small size and rather robust construction (excepting the cord) make them a good choice for travelers. The ear cups fold flat for superior portability. The drivers are sensitive enough to produce reasonable volume even with replay-gained music played through the underpowered headphone jack of my dell mini 9.

In short, a good product at a good price. Recommended.

I bought these to use with my lap top to listen primarily to music while I work. I also wanted headphones that would fold up so they would fit in the lap top case. I ordered these new but think that I might have received one that had been returned as it came in a plastic bag instead of the sealed plastic case. The fit is good as it does not press hard on the ears, so it can be worn comfortably with glasses. However, after about half an hour the narrow steel band begins to be felt on top of the head especially if you have short hair. Would like to see some padding there. These are high impedance headphones so they don't draw much power from an MP3 player and have good volume. The sound quality in my headphones wasn't all that great. The sound is biased to the bass as is the frequency response. Approx 60-5KHZ the sound is very good. The midrange and highs are mushed together with the high frequencies sounding tinney. This is quite common in cheap hi impedance headphones and speakers. They are good for book readers, hip hop, rap, or other low frequency boom boom sounds. The mids and hi frequencies are not clear and sharp enough for Classical, Trance, or Electronic type music. The mids and highs are there, its just that the bandwidth is so compressed that the sounds are smashed together creating distortion. As far as external sound blocking, there is very little. Approx 3-6db is blocked out by the headphone padding. That means that at low volumes or quiet passages you will hear all the outside noise going on with a slight muffled sound. Construction appears to be good with the only weakness being the typical thin cord. All in all not bad for a disposable headphone.

My Sennheiser headphones gave up the ghost so I was committed to spending serious bucks on a new pair for my iPod. Reading all the reviews I came across these JVC Flats so for only a few bucks I figured they were worth a gamble. All I can say that they are a steal. I threw a bunch of serious tracks at them - Brainstorm (Hawkwind - Space Ritual), Southern Man (Crosby Stills Nash & Young - 4 Way Street), Runaround Man (Motorhead - Motorizer), Slipping Away (Rebel Pride - It Is What Is Is), Man Of Nomadic Traits (Pendragon - Not Of This World) and Going For The One (Yes - Going For The One). These phones handled all of the tracks with great separation, a great soundstage and a satisfying bass. I am really astounded that such a cheap pair of phones can produce such a satisfying sound. They really are a steal if you have an MP3 player and want great quality sound. I am still surprised about how good these headphones are.

I purchased these for about 25$ and instantly fell in love with it as soon as I put them on my iPod. These headphones are very comfortable "on the ear" and very neat with the sound. The socket got busted due to some rough handling after about 8 months and I was disappointed. But being an electronics technician helped me to get the socket replaced with a gold connector 35mm plug and now the sound is even better. Just cant let go of it. Its that good. And if you're gonna be listening to music atleast 70% of the time, this would be a good headphone set!
