We purchased this DVD burner in conjunction with a matched JVC Video camera, and must state that it works as advertised. Of its many assets are the ability to burn to DVD any picture and/or video without the need of computer. This is a big plus on vacation trips away from the home. The interfacing with the camara's docking station is intuitive and the transfer itself is handled seemlessly from the camara's lcd screen.

The only negative (minor at that) is that it requires one to purchase -R DVD disk. It has been my experience that the +R disk are the format that the more modern stand alone DVD players prefer. This drive/burner does not work on the +R format. That being said, with the proper software on the home computer - the conversion to the +R format is really only one step removed.

We went on a one week vacation, and this product allowed me to download content off of the camera's hard drive, thus keeping the camara clean and functioning smoothly. It can as well server as a playback unit using the camara's lcd as a display in cases where you do not have access to a television with RCA input jacks. Worked very well and can be used by someone not computer saavy just no Photograph transfer which is curious.

The Dvd will record dvd-r without much work and practically no work if you are just copying all that is on your video camera, it just fills and closes the first dvd and asks for others until it is done(ours needed 3 dvd's to get all from camera.
One surprising although not critical omission is that the dvd's don't include the still photographs that you have on the camera, you have to use an sd card in the camera and switch so that all picts are stored on the sd card. ALSO... the everio camera my father in law has will only use up to a 1 gig sd card so if you are having trouble using a sd 2 gig etc, that is the problem.

Bought this item along with new Video Camera about 2 years ago (2007). I have burned several home videos of various events on to 12 different DVD's over this 2 year period of time. Just recently when I went to burn some video onto DVD again, I started encountering the "disc not recognized" type errors. I know there's nothing wrong with the disc's as they are all from the same spindle. But, I tried a different disc... same thing.

Very disappointed in the reliability of this product. I will say that it worked just fine, when it worked, but this is inexcusable. A product should last longer than 2 years, especially when you spend $200+ for it. Lesson learned, and I won't be buying any other JVC products in the near future. Now I'm worried about how long my JVC Camera will last.

If you own this JVC Everio CU-VD20 DVD burner, and have not had any problems with it - be warned that your time is coming.

If you have a JVC harddrive camera, you need one of these. This makes transfering from the camera to a dvd sooo simple, even I can do it.

I received a lemon. I paid for a brand new product out of the box which i could not use. Not sure who to blame. The seller on Amazon or, Amazon!!

I guess I can call myself lucky because I burnt 14 DVDs (not 10) with this device (I actually count them). After that, it would no longer recognize the discs. Big dissapointment to say the least. After reading the previous 1 star review, this thing is going where it belongs... in the trash!...

No second chance for JVC in my book...

I originally bought a CU-VD10 which managed to create about 10 disks before rejecting any disk I tried as an 'incompatible disk'. I then decided it must be faulty, but as it was out of warranty went for the CU-VD20. That had exactly the same issues. It is so fussy about the disk type that the 1 type of disk I could get to burn is now off the market. People recommend disks that are limited to the 4x speed, but just try finding some.
terrible product, but i couldn't find a way to give it no stars. The Internet is littered with complaints and JVC dont seem to have offered any fix.

This share station is a great way to create quick dvds off the hard drive of your jvc camcorder! The only gripe I have is that the price here is outrageous! Go purchase this exact item in factory sealed box on Ebay for $80-$129.00!!!!! I made an $80 offer and just got my new share station delivered today. What a money saver!!!! If you have a JVC compatible camcorder, you have to get one of these!!

Great product and great seller. The burner is extremely easy to use. The opportunity to burn the dvd's without having to use a computer is great. Plus, I know if I ever decide to do some editing with the computer I can still use the burner with my computer.

This was a great purchase! Very, very easy to use and fairly quick burning. It is perfect for easy removal of videos, especially if your computer doesn't have enough hard disk space! Love it!
