1.0 out of 5 stars shots are nice, but don't expect too much..., February 8, 2002

This review is from: JVC GCQX3HDU 3MP Digital Still Camera with 2x Optical Zoom (Electronics)
I bought it since the 3+ megapixel and the relatively low price is enticing. Admittedly, the picture quality is not bad. But the battery runs out in a couple of minutes if you turn the LCD on. Don't expect it will do any better with the LCD off, as the body of the camera will always be warm (hot?) as you turn on the power. It's not bad for your hands in the winter days. But how can I endure it as the battery will die in less than one hour, or after you take 10 or 15 pictures? Be aware that the retail price for the rechargable battery is no less than ... bucks!

I purchased this camera exactly one year ago last week and the LCD screen went out. I called the local JVC repair and was told that it would be around 400.00 to repair(way not worth it). The pictures were decent while it lasted but I did not like the design and it was difficult to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice camera with plenty of features, March 15, 2002
This review is from: JVC GCQX3HDU 3MP Digital Still Camera with 2x Optical Zoom (Electronics)
This camera takes excellent photos, and has a lot of nice features, especially for manual settings. It comes with an 8 MB SmartMedia card, so plan on moving up to 32 or 64 MB (max). Also, the battery does not last very long, especially when the LCD is on. An extra battery is essential, and costs around sixty dollars. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase.
