Great Product Great Price JVC Gummy Ear Buds,

I recently had the unplanned opportunity this Christmas to compare the JVC Gummy earbud headphones against the Sony version and the Memorex version of this product. So the scientist in me and my 2 daughters tried all three on an ipod nano. It was amazing the difference between the products. The bass is considerably clearer on the JVC product. The volume is much louder ( so you don't have to raise the volume as high and subsequently also raising the hiss and other noise of the particular player you're using). The vocals and cymbals were equally crisp. All this for a mere $8.99 plus S&H online or $14.99 in Walmart. The only drawback that we could find is that the earbuds are inherently uncomfortable for some of us after about an hour as compared to the in-the-ear type. Overall a thumbs up for the JVC Gumy Earbud headphones. Cheers...Les

these are great for everyday use, they fit well in my ears (better than the ones that are standar for i-pods) and are very very comfortable. the only reason for me not rating these a 5 is the lack of bass compared to my other ones. the rest of the sound is very crisp and i recommend these for their price value. worth the time and money, im using them now. :)

I bought these headphones after the ones for my iPod, with which I was quite happy, eventually got to the point where it sounded like the music was coming from a tin can.
I bought the "Coconut White" color, and I was surprised by the fact that one side of the wire is an ever so slight shade of red. It's no big deal, and it's barely noticeable from over 3 feet away, but I was just not expecting that. The sound quality of the headphones is comparable to the ones that come with an iPod, and I have no complaints. I have never listened to music through a $200 pair of headphones, because I don't take it that seriously. They are plenty loud; my only complaint is they may be a little too loud. I like to listen to music the help me fall asleep, and set the sleep timer on my iPod. However, even with the volume on the lowest setting, it isn't quite quiet enough. For all other times of day, I have no problems. After using the iPod headphones for almost a year, I know that they were uncomfortable. However, by the time I wore those out, I was used to them, and did not experience any discomfort in wearing them. These headphones do not feel any different in my ear, so I have no complaints about their comfort either. My final tiny complaint is the feel of the wires. They are made a silicone-like material, and there is a lot of friction. In that respect it is very easy for the wire to get caught on something and have the headphone jump out of your ear. However, I found that after a while the "stickiness" began to wear away, and it no longer was an issue. Overall, I think these headphones are excellent quality. They were an excellent replacement to my original iPod headphones, VERY INEXPENSIVE, and prove well for listening to all kinds of music, including jazz and rock, and I would recommend them to anybody.

Not really white - "coconut" white = gray,

Just a heads-up to those like me with a white iPod: these headphones, though described as "White," are actually "Coconut White." Apparently, "Coconut White" is the same thing as "Gray," because that's what color these headphones are.

Good sound quality. Comfortable, they don't fall out of my ear easily as did my original pair of Ipod earbuds. Good value.

Great sound,

I almost never write reviews for products, but this time I really had to. These earbuds are great. They are way more comfortable than the standard ones that come with the ipod. I also think the sound quality is much better with these. It's much clearer and fuller sounding than the Apple buds. I can't believe Apple is charging 40$ for an inferior product. These really are worth the 5 bucks spent. :)

i got these headphones a few days ago and have used them with my ipod when i work out. they're great for the gym because they're super lightweight and the buds are very soft. after running and lifting, my ears have hurt with other replacements-- but not with these ones! and the sound is fairly good, a lot like the original ipod headphones. great replacements, especially if you don't want to pay $40 for the apple headphones.
oh and like others have mentioned, one of the cords is slightly pink-red in color-- but its not noticable from a few feet away. overall they're a good pair of inespensive headphones.

Cute, Sounds Great, But Uncomfortable!,

This earbuds are as cute as could be, sound great, and are durable, but are very, very uncomfortable. I can only wear mine for about a half hour before they begin to hurt and after an hour I have to take them out---then that's it for the whole day. They are a somewhat soft rubber on the outside but the inside is hard plastic; they are comparable in quality to the earbuds that come with iPod nanos. For the price they are adequate, but you can spend about the same or a bit more and get earbuds that are all this and that you can wear for longer as well. I ended up buying some "Koss "The Plug" Portable Headphones" for under $20 and can wear them all day; I would recommend something like this instead. I do like the colors that these earbuds come in, but they are more than an accessory for me and have to be usable as well. The sound quality is just fine for a cheaper ear bud---no complaints here. Mine often fall out because they do not change their shape to accommodate your ear; your ear must change shape to fit this earbud, hence the discomfort. ***

I have gone through 2 appl ipod headphones (the overally priced ones) within 8 months. I bought these ones because I was tired of wasting money on headphones that die within 6 months. I was PLEASENTLY suprised when I got these. I run up to 3 miles a day in high winds and these little guys held up great. The sound quality was awesome as well. It's been 8 months later and they are still going strong, not bad for under $10! I actually had to buy 2 more sets for my dad (whose apple headphones died) and my boyfriend who where I caught wearing these phones instead of their original apple ones!
If you want cheap, practical headphones that hold up, these are them! I put these bad boys in wind, rain and sun! |
