Good sound, strong bass.

The bass is very prominent and clean but the high's can be nonexistent at times.

The FX101, along with the JVC FX40, are a huge hit in a massive thread at Head-Fi for sounding incredible at their low price points. I have $300 and $400 full-sized headphones, and yet I don't feel like I'm missing out on much moving to these tiny $20 IEMs. They have a balanced, musical sound with incredible, powerful bass (a good seal is essential). They even have a good soundstage, a sense of space.

I'd rank these guys and the FX40 as the best bargains I've yet enjoyed in audio. They handily beat even the classic PortaPro as a better value by sounding significantly better (clearer, more balanced) at half the price.

I have to agree completely with these spectacular reviews. I own several IEMs, a couple costing hundreds of dollars each, and these definitely have the best bass of the bunch. These IEMs are the next best thing to going to the club. They have ungodly amounts of sub-bass and bass, while the mids, nor the treble, are nothing to laugh at. These sound really phenomenal. I honestly think they would be extremely competitive at $60. These IEM's are just downright nasty with bass-heavy music. The only flaw I've found is slightly boomy mid-bass. It may be playing tricks with my ears though as the mids are mildly recessed in comparison. The mid-bass could just be perceived as boomy due to this.

An aside: If you have a quality amp, such as the FiiO E11 or better, try the bass boost! Unamped, these things are the next best thing to the club. Amped, with bass boost, these things kick so hard. I can honestly say that they are on par with club audio. The sub-bass rumbles and is intimately textured, as is the bass. Mid-bass tightens up amped, too.

Try these earphones! For less than $20 you are practically STEALING from JVC. These are possibly the highest value earphones out there, alongside a properly burned-in HA-FX40. If you are a bass-head, these will satisfy you. I promise.

These HA-FX101's are just amazing for their price. I prefer them even over my Audio-Technica ATH-CKS77 (which cost about 5-6 times more). The sub bass rumble on these is top notch, and the other frequencies are not recessed at all. Very clear mids and highs. Don't pass these up!

So after 76 hours of straight burn-in with nothing but drum and bass music, I decided to try the JVC FX101 out finally. WOW! Not sure wow is a good thing for everyone though.

The sound is VERY V Shaped, meaning you get the Highs and Lows and not as much of the Mids. Which is about the exact opposite of what normaly I like. However, the bass is SO INSANE it kinda makes up for that. It is like having a Sub-woofer in between your ears! I swear the sound coming out of these shakes my whole condo building.

It is amazing that kind of bass power can come out of something so small. These have got to be one of the best budget IEMs for Bassheads.

It is impressive no matter how hard I pushed these that bass never seemed to get distorted, it just got louder. Amazing.

I don't like how people give earphones bad rating because the "Tips did not fit them". That has nothing to do with the build or sound quality. The FX101 comes with a few different size rubber tips. None of them fit me. Not a problem. I just grabbed some cheap foam ones I had lying around. Problem solved and perfect seal acquired.

With the new tips, isolation is good. Even more so with the music pumping. Not sure if people around you can hear it, that is something I have yet to test.

I am rating these for what they are. Basshead IEMs. For that, they deliver more than I ever thought they could. They are not neutral, they are not clear. They are in your face bass.

Only bad thing about these, is the Highs can get right on the border of painful sometimes. It is not awful, but it will pop up time to time. To fix this, I just either use a bass booster (which makes the FX101 even MORE fun) or change up the EQ settings a little. It is a pretty easy fix.

I like to listen to music while on the riding lawn mower, so I needed a quality set of noise isolating earbuds. These sound great and block out a lot of the mower sound.

These headphones sound great after I let them play for a continous 50+ hours. When the package first arrived, I immediately plugged them into my phone and played some music. WOW! The highs were unbearable to me. The hurt my ears and I took them out ASAP. I read some reviews and realized that these needed to be broken in. After 50+ hours of playing, these are starting to sound a lot better. The highs have toned down a bit, but still not quite enough for me. I'm finding myself playing my music at low volumes due to the high's. I will break these headphones in a bit more and update this review later on!

After reading so many positive reviews, and high claims from popular audio forums I thought this was a clear no brainer purchase for cheap Earbuds that I can wear and use at work. I'm able to wear headphones all day where I work, and comfort and sound quality is very important as well as the loudness factor as where I work it gets quite noisy.

The first thing I noticed with these earbuds is that they are very comfortable. They feel great in my ears, and they come with two extra sets of earbud rubbers which are smaller and larger then the stock ones on there. But it felt great right out of the box so I went into my high quality audio folder on my PC which consists of nothing but FLAC audio files and made a quick play list of popular, excellently produced songs.

First thing I notice is the lack of highs and the overpowered bass. These are disappointing right out of the box. I expected decent bass, but this is beyond overkill. The Highs and Mids sound muffled among the overpowered bass. It's really quite poor. I'm not sure what type of music people listen to, to give these such high praise but everything I've tried has been pretty bad. I figured I'd give them a solid burn in period at least, and let them play nothing but high quality FLAC audio files for a few hours. Unplugged them and let them rest for an hour. Plugged them in again and it's the same...overpowered bass. I don't know who likes this effect, the highs and mids feel extremely tinny, and the bass is way too much. There's no balance, at the very least there should be a bass boost button on wire somewhere to turn the effect off because it's really quite unpleasant.

At first I honestly thought I got a bootleg pair of earbuds. Anyway....I do some PC gaming as well and figured I'd try them for that.
