Ok, first off let me say that if your ears are sensitive to earbuds that go deep into your ear, these are not the headphones for you.

If your ears aren't sensitive, then these are awesome headphones for you. I have a pair of these in the violet color and they sound and feel amazing (if your ears aren't sensitive). They block out almost all sound, which means...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cord is short
These headphones are fine for casual use - in my experience, they get a little uncomfortable if you have them in for many hours at a time, but they're basically earplugs, so that makes sense. The cord is a little short, although it's fine for someone sitting at a computer. Otherwise I have no complaints.

They block out almost all sound, which means that you don't have to put the volume up to full blast to block out those annoying people who won't stop screaming on the bus and sound great. They come with two sizes of earbud foam which helps if you have smaller ears. The cord is the perfect length and when you're listening to your music you can actually hear yourself breathing, that's all you hear besides your music! They're a great buy and are good quality.

One of the problems is that the earbud foam, doesn't stand up well to wear and they can become waxy and torn. After about 6 months I had already used up the two sets and thus, had to buy a new pair of headphones. If you can find replacement earbud foam for them, or can buy a couple sets, then there are no other problems. I don't recommend these earbuds for people who listen to music while exercising because they can be pulled out. For the person who exercises, try wireless headphones.

Overall a great product for not a lot of $.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Headphones!, July 22, 2010

Pros: Just really quickly I want to say that these are the best headphones I've ever crammed into my earholes. If you want super loud earphones then skip these. They are plenty loud but not extremely. Marshmallows are built for QUALITY sound. And boy, do they deliver.

Pro-tip: Turn them upside-down. Put the stem where the cord protrudes straight up instead of straight down like you'd normally do. Your 'mallows will be seated more comfortably in your ears and will, therefore, slide deeper into your ear canal allowing for a higher volume.

Also, and this next point is most important to me. The blue ones look just like earplugs. Combined with the noise canceling properties of the squishy earpiece, the earplug-like look of them allows you to totally get away with wearing them at work. At my job we aren't allowed any kind of music and are required to wear earplugs. So I just pop in my marshmallows and rock my favorite audiobooks all night long. It's great. Which brings me to my next point.

Audiobooks and other spoken-word pieces sound amazing with these earbuds.

So, in closing, I recommend Marshmallows above any and all other earbuds/headphones. And I've tried quite a few.

Cons: Kind of pricey if you pay full-price. Must be turned upside-down for best comfort.

Thank you,
CeeJay

These are soft and mushy and comfortable. Glad I found them for my teenage daughter again. I bought her first pair at Walmart and had to really hunt to find this particular style of earbuds by JVC, as they have since changed their earphones and they are not as soft.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good earphones., November 10, 2010

I got them about 5 Months ago at big lots for $10. At first they hurt my ears, but I guess I got used to them, because that didn't last long. After the first few days they were comfortable. They sounded great, and blocked out a lot of sound.(but not everything) They just broke yesterday, so I've ordered more, Not this exact one again, I got this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036RA4CS/ref=oss_product I've seen that kind at Walmart for $20. I got a different kind to see which ones are better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressive and pretty, February 23, 2010

Blue and turquoise are my favorite colors, so I wanted a cute and comfy pair just like this of in-ear headphones to go with my iPod. These fit the bill perfectly. The sound quality is much better and louder (thankfully, as I really like to block out other sounds around me) than my previous headphones, which were just the free ones that came with the iPod. Honestly, these are just as good as the large, over-the-ear, much more expensive pairs I've owned in the past. Very comfortable in the ear- I forget I have them in. Also, I work in a call center with cubicles, and no one else can hear my iPod at all during the day, even when it's turned way up. So glad I got these. Can't believe that they're this inexpensive!

I purchased these for my daughter & mom, to match the MP3 players they got for Christmas. They're both very happy with the quality & comfort - and these were priced much lower online than at Walmart or Target. Thanks!

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality Earbuds, Highly Recommended!, January 15, 2010
This review is from: JVC HAFX34AN Marshmallow Earbuds (Electronics)
We own three sets of these JVC Marshmallow Headphones (for me and my two teens) and they are exactly what I was looking for to replace the earbuds that came with my iPods. Unlike the the standard iTouch earbuds, these fit directly into the ear canal so they stay in place if fitted correctly. Here are my observations:

+ Great Sound Quality - While not a serious audiophile, to my ears these produce a rich sound at all ranges.
+ Comfortable - The package contains two sizes of memory foam ear pieces, small (attached) and large. This was important to me because my left ear canal is larger than my right and I was able to get a get a good fit by swapping out the pre-installed left piece.
+ Noise Blocking - Outside noise\sounds are almost completely blocked out.
+ Adjustable Slide - Can be tightened up for use while exercising by sliding up the "stop", this significantly reduces the flopping of the cords.

For best fit, be sure to follow the directions and roll the memory foam pieces between your fingers before putting them in your ears. This will allow them to expand in your ear canal, making a very secure and tight seal.

They also come in a lot of different colors, which is good if you have other headphone users in the house (my set is black, my daughter has green and my son has silver).

Highly Recommended!
