4.0 out of 5 stars My Opinion
You get what you pay for. They are tiny with a shiny gunmetal finish. Provided you can get an adequate seal with the ear, the HA-NCX77s offer good passive noise isolation, so you can save the battery for situations with excessive low frequency noise (trains, planes, and subways). The cable is 36 inches, so it is long enough for individuals to keep the box comfortably...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy!!!! Noise cancel doesn't do anything on these.
I bought these to replace headphone-style noise-canceling headphones (which only worked adequately). I figured the inner-ear style would add to the noise reduction my headphone-style ones didn't provide. The inner-ear style of these certainly reduces ambient noise, but turning on and off the electronic noise reduction did absolutely nothing. I tried replacing the battery...

These earbuds sound great. Most surprising is the excellent bass response, which rivals many full-size headphones in the same price range. And while the low end will satisfy bass addicts, it's not overpowering: all in all, music sounds rich and warm with sparkly highs and a balanced midrange. I sampled rock, jazz, and electronica, and the headphones performed well across each genre. The noise cancellation feature works fine.

This review is from: JVC HANCX77 in Ear Canal Headphone (Electronics)
I bought these to replace headphone-style noise-canceling headphones (which only worked adequately). I figured the inner-ear style would add to the noise reduction my headphone-style ones didn't provide. The inner-ear style of these certainly reduces ambient noise, but turning on and off the electronic noise reduction did absolutely nothing. I tried replacing the battery and that was not the problem. My test was to sit in front of an un-tuned radio (static). My old headphones had a noticeable change when noise reduction was turned on and off (they changed the sound somewhat) but the JVC ones had NO noticeable change. Good thing I have my receipt because they are going right back.
